I forgot how to get around and where to hunt . I'm doing crocs in LP for now till I get bored wit them. I've got bout 14k up and a decent amount of mana unbuffed..any ideas of other spots? If you are working on aa's, I believe that is about the best spot for that level. Atiiki might still be good but it would be on the lower end of xp for that zone at 78.
I would suggest moving to Hills of Shade. It will take longer to kill and may not be awesome xp, but you can at least start farming Reaver's Pyre from the scarecrows and work on the bertoxx faction there if you wish...and it's something different.
Otherwise, there's a few spots in FM (take the cannon in Dragonscale Hills) that were decent at 80. Near the blimp where theres a huge gear sticking out of the ground, near the spell vendor and in the NE pit are decent spots in that zone.

Welcome back!
I'd like to refer you to this (http://www.necrotalk.com/showthread.php?t=9907) library section regarding faction & spells. Even though the new expansion might obsolete all the gear you might obtain in SoF, you will still make great use of quite a few spells obtainable in rk2 form via faction. The easiest, no-nonsense faction route can be found from this guy (http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=29799) in dragonscale hills. I'd like to point out that the exp gained from doing those 'daily' faction tasks is quite significant.
Additionally, for travel purposes Samanna's map (http://samanna.net/gen.info/maps.shtml) is ideal. It doesn't contain the new SoD zones yet, but here's how you do those:
From PoK you can find a herald - which will promt you to say time - and you get ported to Plane of Time. In Time, you will find a blue sparkly portal thing - clicking it will take you to void_a. From Void, you can access the various SoD zones by traveling through the blue sparkly portals. Likewise, you can return to the void by clicking those blue portals from the SoD zones.
You'll also want in-game maps that are current, so head to mapfiend (http://www.mapfiend.net/) and download their latest map packs, unzip them into your everquest/maps directory.
That ought to get you well on your way!

At level 81 the efreeti in Atiki give roughly the same aa xp as crocs do, at least for me anyway. On my server nobody is ever in Atiki but crocs are often camped. It's a lot easier to kite 2-3 efreeti at the same time than it is crocs, so the increased kill rate makes up for the lower xp per mob. Plus if you have not done the paza's remains quest yet you will get all the drops you need for that killing efreeti.

Hello, not trying to hijack your thread but I'm a 66 necro thinking of returning as well, last time I played you had to be flagged for some of the planes, is this still true?
thanks

Hey there! Keying & flagging required for zone entry is now pretty much a thing of the past regarding old content. There are now alternative entry methods - your level. I don't remember the specific cut-off, but it's something on the order of 2yr old content & older will get level requirement optional entry. Check out this post (http://www.necrotalk.com/showthread.php?t=9423) containing the patch message that explains the new minimum level requirements for zone entry.
However, the keying / flagging process is still active, can still be done - and if flagged/keyed there is no required level. Additionally, some raids and/or instances that have a pre-requisite of specific flags or keys may still be required for the person requesting the raid / instance...just not everybody else.
