Hi all I have a question about the sacrifice spell. I know i'm still low in level but I have a friend that is willing to sacrifice himself 15 times for me. When I get to the appropriate level and get the spell and cast it on him will he get a box similar to a rez box asking permission? Or will I just be able to cast this on him and it sacrifices him. Another question is if he sacrifices himself 15 times at lvl 62 is it most likely he'll be lvl 60 or below when we're done? Just trying to familiarize myself with the spell a little bit because I don't think my bud knows what he's getting into.

my understanding is that it will give a confirmation box, like rez and translocate.
the thing to keep in mind is that this is an unrezzable death, it is permanent exp loss.
make sure your friend understands that.


now, why do you need 15 essence emeralds?

To sacrifice someone, first they need to be grouped with you.

Second, when you finish casting, a box will pop up asking if he/she accepts the sacrifice.

The person sacrificed won't be able to be rezzed to recover that lost xp.

I had a friend sacrifice my rogue 20 (twenty times), he was 51 with about 40% exp done and after the sac's he went back to 69% of level 49. I don't really care about the rogue atm, all i wanted was my 20 EEs :)
For what? I don't know, all i know is that i already used one!

Thanks for the info. There is no specific reason that I wanted 15 sacrifices from him. Mainly it was from a deal we made for a piece a gear I had and that's the number I came up with. Like I said i'm not sure my bud knows what he's getting into, I mentioned to him that he can't be rezzed when sacrificed but i'm not sure he was paying attention( item was a new wep). I'll explain it again to him from the info you've given me here and see if he still wants to do it. If worse comes to worse I'll transfer my bst to my buds account and sacrifice all I need. I wouldn't think twice about Sacrificing him. When I got my spell I Immediately stocked up on Emeralds and /ooc WTB sacrifices. I now have 70 in bank and Looking for more Vict..., I mean nice people......

You need to have emerald's as a component on you before you cast sacrifice (sac). One emerald will be consumed per sucessful casting, and will turn into an essence emerald. Make sure your victem is bound to the spot where you are casting sacrifice as it saves time when they pop back. Depending on the level of the victem, you should get between 15 and 20 sacrifice's per full 5 yellow's exp.
Alternately, advertise for victems with obsolete characters on their account and pay them 150pp per sucessful sacrifice, then you can sell the essence emeralds for 300pp + in bazar depending on server.

Something to note: Having a Reagent Conservation III item on does NOT give you a chance to not use an EE when rezing, etc, but when you are making EE's with Sacrifice, the RCIII item WILL give a chance to not use a regular emerald as a reagent. Just something to keep in mind if you want to save a few pp.

Also, level 51 is the PERFECT level to sacrifice people. 51 used to be a hell level; xp came real slow, but when you died you lost about 4% xp rather than 8-11% as normal. Well, when they removed hell levels, they didn't change the smaller xp loss on death...therefor, you can get @21 sacrifices from someone 99.9% into 51 before he de-dings to 50. 21 sacrifices is normally about 2 levels of xp any other level 46-65.

And yeah...make SURE your sacrificial lamb knows his xp cannot be rezed back.

Sometimes for fun on long xp grinds I'd send Sacrifice confirmation boxes to guildies I was grouped with. You should hear the laughs when they see it and the RANTS about it in /guildchat when it's late and they accidently click YES.

I myself have a level 51 wizard I use for sacrifice purposes. I quad in Cobalt Scar until he dings 52, then sacrifice him down to the beginning of 51 for a stack of EE's, then I quad with him for a few hours over the course of the next week to get him ready to be 'used' again...
