70 nec.here( 1 gold from 71),Looking for serious good advice on where to hunt at.Wanting to hunt in 2-3 places that are kitable for my level. I have no aa skills since i have been leveling as much as poss. My gear is not uber (Defiant) but not lacking in the HP/10,289<>Mana/8,197 area's.I'm a casual player(2-3days per/wk)maybe 5-6hrs per/day.So any serious advice would greatly be taken !

At 70 I was in The Nest (instanced, Lair of the Blackwing mission) a bunch. That or 69.1 are really where it's at for your level.

Either way you will need 2 other toons (mercs count) to get the instance, but it's worth it. At the time I boxed up to 4 at a time so it wasn't really an issue for me...:)

I hate to say it, but Plane of Fire is still good xp at 70 and you don't need flags anymore for it. The camp there is tables or it's sometimes called C2.

Some other non instanced options would be various TSS zones. Icefall would probably be good if you stuck to lower level stuff (wolves, goblins, cats and perhaps the spiders). Sunderrock springs would also be a decent option and there's a hotzone aug you can get there as well.

At 75, the bottom of Vergalid Mines (requires a key) and Attiki are very nice but I'm not sure how they would be before that.

I'm going out on a limb by saying you're making a Big Mistake (tm) by letting your AAs go neglected for so long. Off the top of my (Male Pattern Baldness) head I can think of the following:

Run Speed (mobs can't hit what they can't catch)
Spell Casting Mastery (mana reduction)
Gift of Mana (99pct mana reduction!)
DoT crits (gets pretty sick towards the end)
Combat Evasion and Mitigation
AA Feign Death
AA Snare
Pet Combat Increases (Flurry and Crits)

All of which can be reached or at least started in the first couple hundred AAs. Add to that the AA Bonus we're getting if you're low in the first place makes any reason you or anyone has for holding off on AAs until later as.../thinks of appropriate word... poppycock and nonsense!

So pick several spots that you can say to yourself "golly, but I can do this camp for a long time" and go back and forth between them because you're missing out on some good stuff. And once you're totally bored of them, you're high enough to do the SoF DSH Tasks which is an AA each Task (I think) and some nice pieces if you've got Defiant.

I agree with Osgoode, slow down and get some AAs.

I hit up PoF to burn lesson and I get an AA every 2 kills at level 71. My play time is very limited so I stick with PoF since yours is longer it gives you more options. But regardless stopping and picking up some AAs would be a really good idea.

I'm currently 72 but started in Attili @70 with pretty much the same setup as you. I researched a lot of my spells from drops in SRF levelling from 65 to 70 so had a pretty full spellbook dps wise. I found that level 71 was the sweet spot for this zone with an aa every 2 kills or so, plus your working towards the pet zombie clickie @75 with the quest drops. Plus these also drop 70 - 75 spells scrolls for rk2 TSS spells.

Even at level 72, I'm getting an AA on yellow cons every 3 kills or so and am slowly building up my aa lists. It nice to have a goal AND gain aas at the same time rather than mindlessly exping for nothing.

Since level 72 (78 now), I've always set my AAXP counter at 80% towards AA. At 72, I think I had about 100 AAs and now at 78 I'm at 850. The difference is tremendous!

For me, at 70 I moved from Nobles Causeway over to Icefall. I hunted Icefall until 72/73ish then moved over to the Buried Sea (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zones.html?zstrat=468) to work on the Jonas Dagmire Skeletal Hand Quest (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4188) (still not done :/). I hunted the Gobbies (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/search.html?q=A+Sunstone) on the island once I got bored with the quest until I hit 75 then I moved into Katta (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zones.html?zstrat=470) to do the factioning (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/faction.html?faction=500) to purchase Kedgefish Venom Rk II (ally needed). That had me at 77 by the time I was done with the facitoning and then I went into Atiiki (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zones.html?zstrat=475) to kill the Efreeti to get the Death Visage (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=67317) and Remains (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=67303). I dinged 78 while there. I moved into Loping Plains (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zones.html?zstrat=529) last night (I'll be honest and say I don't see a HUGE difference in XP there from Atiiki, but I'm working faction (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4389) too, so it's worth it).

Biggest thing overall is to have fun. I'm a MUCH more casual player than you are and I've enjoyed these places quite a bit!

You've pretty much been given the right advice so far, as far as places to level.
PoF, icefall, Attiki, 69.1, and nest are all great places to go.
I personally would go check each place and see what works best for you. Just kill for an hr or so and note your amount gained, then do the same for the rest. It would be helpful if you came back here and reported. Have a low to no AA necro test the xp gained in each of the above would be perfect to report to others as a base line.

Now, to address the AA issue. The AA Guide would indicate roughly 94aas "needed". I personally wouldn't go past 75 without catching up with the guide. For convience I'll cut and past the part of the guide appropriate.

[__]First purchase up to Rank4 Innate Run Speed
[__]Next get rank 1 of Mnemonic Retention
[__]Next get rank 1 of Spell Casting Mastery
[__]Get Rank 1 of this next Death Peace
Now you should be at 18AAs
Go back to
[__]Spell Casting Mastery and get ranks 2 and 3
You should now be at 28AAs.
Now lets pick up some Damage
Max this AA line out
[__]Critical Affliction
You should be at 64 AAs spent now. Are you lvl 70 yet?
If so go get this:
[__]Encroaching Darkness
Then max:
[__]Gift of Mana
At this point you should have 91 AAs spent.

Good, Solid advice from Solithan. Those AAs can never be underestimated!

I don't play my necro very much. But I'm getting great exp kiting in Katta Castrum, at the greenhouse. I know that everyone says to go to Attiki for the level I'm at (73 maxed out dot crit AA's for the level so starting to work for 75 for the next dot crit ranks). With my very low AA count (143 AA's atm) I'm getting absolutely stunning AAxp here, on par with the amount that Savok said he's getting in Atiiki.

I loved hunting Katta Snakes. Like I said above, I was there until 77 due to factioning for spells and such and must have made well over 150K plat there just on the drops (maybe more, I keep buying and selling stuff in the Bazaar, so can't be sure). I set AAXP at 80% (also mentioned above) and pinged away while still gaining levels. Katta is a solid recommendation, especially once you bind near the Greenhouse and just Levant back and forth to complete the quests and sell/bank stuff.

I liked Atiiki(or however it's spelled) around level 70. I don't know much about the greenhouse in Katta, but I'm pretty sure at least one type of those snakes in that zone summon. They melee for crap(I think they're wizards that summon, it's entirely stupid), so not a huge problem, but it could get annoying if you have to deal with it on a consistent basis.

The Hand Aug(guides available on NT) is worth about 50-70AA, pending on what level you do it at, and completely soloable..why not do that and gain a nice aug at the same time?

I had almost 3500 AA's when I quit(well beyond the cap) and almost never just "grinded exp", there's enough to do to get exp as a by-product of accomplishing other things, even if it's camping some obscure item, clicky or something(like the 750hp clicky from the vergalid mines quest).

Dragonscale hills, minotaurs? You'll need the faction anyway, or at least it's likely you will.

I think at 70 you should be more concerned on levels, get the few priortiy AA's like run speed/dps ones. Just remember once you get higher in levels you achive more mana/hps and will be able to kite in the better zones. Plus with the new AA exp adjustments you will gain AA faster. Maybe set your exp to 90% regular and 10% AA or 80/20.

As far as zones; Atiiki, 69.1, icefall mammoths.

Once I finally get the last drop I need for the Death visage/clicky (wru helm?), I'm starting the hand aug and then Katta factioning. Pleanty to do and no real reason to rush to 85 here, having done it 4 times already its nice to just take my time on a fresh server.

They melee for crap(I think they're wizards that summon, it's entirely stupid), so not a huge problem, but it could get annoying if you have to deal with it on a consistent basis. The ones at the Greenhouse (Alchemist and Herb Tender) don't summon. Crazy easy XP and by the time you clear the entire Greenhouse, the are re-popping!

You're advice is good about just knocking out the quests and gaining the XP and AA that way. I used to only do things that way. I guess over the past year or so, I'd just gotten so used to so little playtime that I've constantly felt the lure for just a couple more AA and a little more XP, LOL. This past month or so, I've gone back to my original train of thought and knocked out the Binden and the Death Visage. I just this week moved into Loping Plains for the gators and such, but probably only gonna stay long enough to finish up my level 78 AAx (Blood Tithe, Greater Blood Tithe and Destructive Cascade); prolly just a couple days worth of play with LotD. I plan to head back to the Buried Sea and finish up Jonas's Aug. I've got 16 of the necessary bones already. At 78 with around 900 AA, it should be cake, I'd think. :p
