Just recieved my PoTactics flag today with a MB kill. I've been hearing about how PoTactics is the best solo xp a necro can get before PoFire (HoH basements and PoS frogs are real nice, but if I can get better I'll surely take it.). The problem I have is, I've never been in the zone before (zoned in but never went past the first intersecting hallway) so I don't have a clue about camps there or where they are or what mobs I'd need to pass to get there or whether they seen invis, etc, so I'm hesitant to even try to get into a group LFM there because I don't want to look like a friggin ebayer (yeah, I'm 65 and I want in your group, how do I get to the camp from zonein...). maybe that's not so bad, but my server is full of idiots and I don't want to look like one of 'em if you know what I mean...

So to sum up my question: where should I start now that I can get into Tactics? is there a camp near zonein I can get to alone and solo?

Load up invis skin and run straight up the stairs. After first intersection there will be a cubby on your right with no mobs inside maybe ppl though this is a normal camp. As I recall the mobs there do not summon so you will be agro kitting in there trying to stay away from the other mobs. There are Sk gaurds there and down those other roads at intersection are some red mobs who will be you over backwards. Personaly I use to keep going past the room and straight in fron of you will be a large rectangular pit. Its the arena seems Rallos zek likes to spectate from up above not sure if its true he can agro into the arena or not so if you here the zone wide message of his pop unmistakable run). Once down there get into a corner the wraiths see invis i believe since they are undead /wink wink) These are your pets snare up pull charm send him after a pig. Also, the black as i recall spire looking things in corner are zo's so click if the dookie hits the fan. Can amke some nice cash down there just watch out for the stampede call. Didnt notice it once and 12 pigs wailing on you drops fast even when raid buffed). There are many more camps kitchen baracks some names which drop nice stuff. Personaly I would lfg and ask politly in tell on directions if they think your dumb run around till you find them and fd much better way) lol jk dont do that . Hope thatr helps if I am missing punctuations here they are to be put in...,,,??!! looks good

Paragraphs hate you, Rikam. They hate you so much. They hired a professional assassin to kill you. He should be showing up shortly.

Ahh. Here he is, now. -------------->

Zone in. Cast Skin of the Shadow. Run up the stairs. Run down the hall until it opens onto a wide rectangular catwalk that surrounds a pit. The only efficient way to hunt in the Pit is to use Charm, and I hate Charm without an Enchanter, so step out of the hallway, onto the catwalk, and turn left.

Following this path, you'll come to the entrance to a big rectangular room with no spawns inside. Set up in the sandy spot in the middle, and pull the Diaku here. Note that their MR is rather slick, so expect to see a ton of resisted darknesses from time to time -- SoW/SoE is a Plus, here.

The only thing you need to watch out for is the occasional Diaku Death Knight. They cast Darkness, and Asystole ( which can encumber you enough that it becomes a snare ), Blood of Hate ( 180 per tick, I believe. Kinda hurts ), and a 1000 point Harmtouch. Furthermore, all the creatures here hit for around 500.

Valuables to keep an eye out for are Spectral Parchements, Ethereal Parchements ( bleh. :( ), and the motherload -- Highly Polished Gems. You can sell them raw to enchanters for 20,000pp, or else take a risk and have someone combine them to make an earring worth around 30k.

Drops can be super-rare or super-common. Go-go EQ Randomizer.

AA EXP is around 4 - 6% per kill. Guardians are low-level, and provide low AA return compared to the nastier Diaku Warriors, Scouts, and D.K.s, but all can drop the Ethers, Specs, and HPGs, and the AA here beats the hell outta HoH, as all the creatures you're up against -can- be snared.

Assuming you wish to hunt the Pit, simply become invisible, and run out of the square-like room that you use to kite in. Run out onto the catwalk, until you're at the opposite side of the pit, with the former kite room behind you, and the pit on your left, with a similar-to-the-kite-room area directly ahead.

Next, drop off the edge of the pit ( DMF is a must. ), and hover straight forward, towards the nearest corner of the pit. Float straight down, and you'll end up hovering on top of the zone-out post in the pit. Keep tabs on it, because you'll likely need it, soon.

Next, load Word of Terris and Death's Silence, as well as Death Peace, QVoXarn, and whatever other spells you like. Now, hang out and try not to panic at the sight of all those closely-packed monsters. Yes, they social, and yes, they can kick your ass, but most of them don't see invisibility. Just keep clear of the veiled gargoyle things ( wraiths ), and the crows. Some of the crows see invisible, and all of the wraiths do, as they're Undead. Charmable? Yes, but they cast, so their DPS sucks.

Instead, keep an eye out for a Robe-monster, like the ones you see in Maiden's Eye. These will be labeled ' A Tortured Soul ', and despawn after awhile. They see invisibility, but nothing down here summons, so no worries. Wait til it's alone, and Death's Silence it until it lands. Then, stick Word of Terris, and pray that it lasts.

Now, Rune of Death it.

Next, use it to murder anything you can before charm breaks, and you have to run away screaming.

Pretty much everything you need to know about Drunder. Good luck. B)

Ventured into Tactics today. Not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. Did some killing of Diaku scouts/warriors/guardians... the one death knight I attempted resisted snare 4 times , HT me for 1k, and ended up killing me, although he didn't really hit all that hard.

I went into the pit to check it out, but never saw any undead other than the wraiths...just for kicks I tried to charm a wraith while I was near the zone out stone and got the message the mob was "too high of a level for your charm"...though it was dark blue and I was using Word of Terris...I don't understand that at all. I can see if it was immune, but it should have given me an immune message and not a level message...

Anyway, I'm excited to start checking out more of the zone.

Word of terris goes upto 63. wraiths are 64 iirc. The only charmable mobs for us in tactics are the tortured souls. Duration seems completely random, so you can quickly get your pet not liking you much. Also (if I missed it I dunno) Frenzied Warriors/whatever in the pit are kind of a mini-named and commonly drop spectral parchments. Look out for the stampede, and try to root the piglet and fd if you can target him...once the rest of the big boars go by, stand and kill the piglet. Preferbly getting your charmed mob back first to do so. He can drop some decent items to wear or sell for cash for more then decent items...

Word of Terris is capped at level 63 mobs? Grr. Wasn't WoT supposed to be for up to level 65 mobs? Did I miss a nerf somewhere?

you ever try charming the mummies in ldon MM theme...some you can, some you get the "too high.............." message? WoT is capped, at 63.

WOW

That is all I can say. I am the only one in my guild flagged for tactics, and they are hating me now :P All I can say is WOW....thanks for the awesome "how to" as I hadnt even zoned in before. Yeah, Yeah, I know I know....necro, solo stuff, but I was busy farming Veksar :P

4 spectrals, one HPG.....can I cry now?

Tried the pit today...stayed in arms reach of the zone out. a tortured soul is NASTY. downed 2 boars with Touch of Death ... I didn't bother trying to heal him, because, well, screw that. He's a throw away pet. Had to bail too many times for it to be real efficient for xp, but it was sure as hell exciting!

Went back to diaku and noticed there is a pretty big range in difficulty among them...Armsmen and Guardians are very easy, Scouts are easy, Warriors are a bit tougher, and I only messed with the one Death Knight before I learned my lesson. Anyone know which ones have a chance to drop Spectrals?

Demetrii Spiritdrinker

All Diaku drop Spectrals -- even those dumb Guardians. HPGs, too.

And no worries about the DK. You'll have to learn to kill them to keep spawns clear, however, and those tend to drop Spectrals the most.

I recommend:

Q. Veil of Xarn
Saryrn's Kiss
Blood of Thule
Funeral Pyre
Embracing Darkness
Touch of M.
Pyrocruor
Death Peace

___________

Death Peace is nice when the DKs somehow land a darkness. Also, ensure that you have SoE on as often as possible. Makes Diaku trivial, compared to RS3.

There are two types of wraith in tactics. I can't recall their exact names, but something like a war wraith, and battle wraith (level 58 or so).

The battle wraiths are my charm-bait of choice due to the lower level and the resulting longer charm times.

Enjoy

Charming is very risky business in tactics. However, I have found that the "Battle Wraiths" are charmable. They are a necromancer mob, so you can get away with trying to charm them 2 or 3 times sometimes because they are trying to cast on you. Excellent for keeping the piggy room clear and even killing the little runt.

As for agro kiting, the death knights are definately the hardest, but only because they can put darkness on YOU!! If this happens then just FD and wait for the message, because your doomed if you stay up. I have found that a WTD pet will usually keep this from happening. All of the Daiku will drop spectrals, ethereals and HPG's, it does seem to me like the death knights drop them more often. Here is the spell lineup I use to kite:

Touch of Mujaki
Horror
Funeral Pyre of Kelador
Blood of Thule
Embracing Darkness
Saryrn's Kiss
Rune of Death
Death Peace

You can just keep yourself in SoS form and switch it out with Rune of Death when you need to.

How do I get a flag for tactics ?

Do I need a guild to obtain the flag or is it doable by a small group ?

So once I get to lvl62 the plane of tactic will be open ?

I hope there is no need for a flag to enter because I dont want to raid !

30% exp to go then !!

Jebasiz

Tactics isn't accessible simply by dinging 62.

I thought 55 gives you PoV, PoS and Torment access,
and 62 cives you BoT, HoH, CoD and Tactics access?

AanuuarVF

55... Plane of Valor / Storms / Torment / Crypt of Decay
62... Bastion of Thunder / Halls of Honor

Plane of Tactics is accessable by a quest in Plane of Storms and by Killing the Manaetic Behemoth.

that is all

You can get PoTactics flagged via a key which you piece together in PoStorms. The desert I believe. Not sure of the specifics, but you need four pieces of an emblem. Upper right, upper left, lower right, and lower left (can be MQ'd), and when turned in to the proper NPC, one full group recieves the flag for tactics. I believe it's the 'xp only' flag, so you still need to kill MB for progression, but for xp and raiding purposes IN tactics, that should suffice.

Look the quest up on allahs.

It is very easy to get in a raid for the behemoth, there seems to be one going on constantly on Xegony....could just be the same one though, and they never get enough peeps for a pickup raid :D Although, with a good group you can do the quest easily enough...just really need some good DPS and a healer...Doesnt take long, and you can get this done with some decent exp too.

Ok so here it is a descent way to make about 6k an hour. Load up levi invis go run up stairs and to the pit drop down and follow the left wall. Go into the first room you come to and walk through the right side of doorway. Go straight now in center of room there is a mob in front and to right and behind and on left move to the left corner without mob in it near the stables. Now load up buffs dont use lich and just sit and wait.

After a while about 45 min a spawn you hear hoove rumbling or something message. a bunch of pigs spawn and start running. Look for a piglet and try to get target on him. If not its ok they run through arena and almost always when the enter again the room from the north door the Stampedeing piglet will be last.
Spell line up:
FD
SoS
SK
Pyre
BoT
Horror
Embracing
Petrifying earth

When the pigs start coming into room cast sos and start trying to look for piglet he should be last if he spawns in middle of them then just let him pass less you want a good chance to die. Target piglet and cast root asap if he gets to stable he depops another 45 min to next one. Now toss on snare and move close to him till he looks at you like the pos frogs he has a small agro range if outside he will start regening back to 100 and his is even smaller then frogs. Now pretty much just toss every dot on him and kill him no mobs except stampede (which should have despawned by now) will assist him so just keep close reapply root and make sure not let him unsnare or get out of agro range. Leaving his agro range will make him zone into stables and depop if root breaks. Pretty much just kill him and loot his stuff he drops Tacticians bulwark so if you have one they are lore will need to run and toss in shared bank. He drops spec's which I normaly turn into SK vendor or some hybrid cause their spells usualy cost more =). So if you get 4k on spell and 5k on other item just took you like 45 min to get some 10k for little work.

I have done this about 6 times and have seen piggy in center stampedee only once I tried pulling him out with root but got others agro and root resist so had to fd and he depoped. Hope this helps ya and if you on saryrn I kill the foo who takes my camp=)
