custom titles

I think we need more titles as people post more...something after advanced member...I don't know what they'd be. Some boards have titles like "skilled ranter" "master" etc etc.

I was thinking of maybe level titles of everquest, and then maybe aa titles.

like someone with 200-300 posts could be a defiler (instead of advanced member) and someone with 301-400 could be a warlock etc..

comments/ideas?

Maybe this is a good Idea, but i'm surprized your the one bringing it up.

member and gear have nothing to do with it...just post. People with alot of posts generally make a contribution that effects more people then people who just read, or seldom post. This is the only board I've been on that I've seen titles stay generic, why does me bringing it up surprise you? The sig is just something I've had for a while and attatched in my profile...I don't see the problem with adding some character to the Message Board.

250 defiler

500 warlock

750 lich

1000 arch lich

then even you would have something to work towards ;)

I think titles are a great idea but i can imagine the useless reply's that'll start racking up just so people can gain titles

have to agree... I like the idea of titles, but what will titles assigned by sheer volume of posts do to the useless post count... :(

Some boards have the ability to allow users to set custom titles for themselves? Is that a viable compromise solution maybe?

Maybe not titles based on amount of posts....this would have to be administered by the moderators, but whoever posted the most amounts of useful info?
