While exping in plane of fire the other day I had this rogue come up and start back stabbing my mobs as I was kiting...while there's not much of a chance of him ks'ing me, I didn't really like the fact that he took it upon himself to try. "hey man, can I join you?" Was his first tell, and after I said "nah, thanks I'm fine and about to afk a few for food." He starts attacking one doomfire soldier and then another.... so I fd'd and he escaped. Then he waited for a while and started attacking my mobs again, so I fd'd again. He died....apparently escapes fastest refresh time is 36 mins....Lesson learned for me, rogue problem = "train" him twice (in under 36mins) =)

As a former rogue, I congratulate you on dealing with that guy... It's people like him what cause unrest.

i've had a few times, mostly at lower levels, where players will come up and start beating on the mob i'm soloing and then ask if i want help... the conversation usually starts with wtf and ends on my ignore list...

I have had some peeps do this to me as well. Most in my case have asked and are just wanting to skill up on a higher lvl mob (with some weapon skill they have neglected to skill up). I usually dont care if its in a case where they are cool about it. LOL Jebasiz, I am going to use your method if they ever just jump in attacking my mobs spaming me with tells to invite them :P

If I can take the time to ask a group whether I can leech some hp off their mob when I've accidentally liched a tad too far for my liking, then somebody can take the time to ask me whether they can smack it around a bit.
Common courtesy, like common sense, just isn't very common nowadays.

Heh, I BoD/Deflux other groups' mobs all the time without asking. It's not like they mind the free DPS or like there is any danger of a kill steal.

Omnius,
Following your same line of logic one could rationalize taking food off of the plate of a person dining at a table next to you in a resturaunt since that person isn't likely to starve to death anyway....
The polite, and moral thing to do is ask before you serve yourself.

Depends on how bad I need to tap something... :)
Dunno about you Grrymm, but if somebody tapped a mob I was killing to save his own ass, then, afterwards sent me a tell explaining why he did it, I'd be perfectly fine with it. if the tell didn't come, I'd probably send a tell asking if that's what he was doing and if he planned on doing it again.
I'll normally ask as a courtesy, but rarely does anyone really care. The backstabbing rogue, though, in actuality (depending on how fast you like to burn down your solo mobs and how good his weapons were), there's real risk of killstealing there if he's backstabbing the whole time. The first time he stole one I'd grab two, tell him I had them both np, then once he was on one of them, FD.../pet go away...bye bye rogue....probably before he even realized wtf happened.
Then again, come on. How many people play a necro because they want to be courtious and morally sound all the time?
