I'm lvl 49 now, and my original plan was to goto HHK for my next few levels, but since they nerfed the exp, I've been looking for a new place, and I've noticed a lot of people mentioning Dulak. Just wondering if anyone has a guide or any strats for this zone, otherwise I will probably end up writing one after I go check it out.

Haven't tried it myself, but I'd imagine you can just pull mobs from one of the boats onto the docks alongside and fear-kite them there. Just time the respawns on the docks so you don't get adds.
My 52 Mage was on one of the boats (Lady D I think) a few weeks back and most were dark blue with the odd light blue, so I suspect that would easily be soloable at 49. Nothing saw through invisibility on the way there from the zone-in either.

I would not attempt to fear kite in Dulak Harbor. It's very dangerous and from what I've read... somewhat impossible. When I was there, I used the root and rot method on the mobs. I was able to solo the whole boat at 50 or so. Meaning before any respawned I had the last one dead.
Root them first, if fail send pet with taunt. Then reapply root then back pet off.
drop a snare of your choice
start adding on the Dots.
then simply reapply root as nessesary.
Never let snare drop!
After a few of them you'll figure out best combination of dots to be mana efficient.
Good luck.

ignore dulak and use my CS guide (http://www.necrotalk.com/index.php?showtopic=946). its not the best exp but its better then dulak and and the money per hour is probably as good or better too. If nothing else you can hunt bards/nobles in HHK but I didn't particuarly like that, however its the best exp you can make at your level. Have fun.

I love Dulak and have primarily leveled there since lvl 49. I have moved from boat to boat the higher level I get.
Start by going there and running around while invised and learn the zone. People there are used to newbies to the zone and are helpful in teaching you the boats and the appropriate zone "eddict".
IT IS POSSIBLE TO FEAR KITE A BOAT.
Simply cast darkness, sick pet, cast Insidious regression, Fear, the best DoT. The pet will kill it before it runs of the boat. Once you have cleared the boat. I pull the mob to the bow (front end) of the boat before I fear and its dead easily before it gets off the boat.
YOU MUST LEARN EACH BOAT
Each boat has a "safe spot" near the boarding plank to start pulling from. From there the order to pull in is pretty easy. Always clear the lower deck first.
GOOD LOOT
I make about 1.5k in a 2 to 2 1/2 hour night if no Captain spawns. Captains spawn on each ship, as a rare spawn. Drops sell for anywhere from 1k to 4k on the Tribunal server.
Not bad for an outdoor zone. It gets to be a little boring from time to time, but I usually turn on a game, or good movie and I can play an watch.

i fear kited dulak a lot in the mid to late 40s... boats as described above, or the wall area between the boats... aggro radius is very small and once you learn to time mobs it is a very easy to predict patterns... i usually used L4 fear for more control
the shrine area in gunthak is also decent to fear kite up to 51... after that a few spots in nadox can still get you xp in the late-50s
none of these spots are the best xp, but there are enough that you never have to worry about finding a camp, and once you get use to them, chance of death is close to 0% (i think i died twice over many visits from 44-59, both due to LD)... don't underestimate downtime elsewhere... somewhat boring, but good for low-stress grinding between groups or more adventurous solo spots

I LOVED Dulak with my first necro. When LoY was released, mobs on either of the first boats would drop a Star Rubys, Sapphires, Diamons, or Blue Diamonds about every 6-8 mobs. I made about 40k in coin/gems/captain loot from 49-54 there. only about 1 gem per 15 mobs or so now, but still not bad if you spend a few levels there.
Fearkiting used to be very easy as mobs would path off the boat and down the dock no matter where you feared them. Fearpathing is all fubarred now, so it's easiest just to agrokite now. Dooming, Asystole/Bond of Death worked just fine for agro usually if I let them hit a couple ticks before sending Jobober...at 51, e-bolt was more than enough agro to send jobober right away.
Not to mention all the mobs in the zone drop level 44-49 spell components, which can net you alot of side cash or give you a nice supply of 44-49 necro scrolls to sell/give to up and coming deathcasters. :) (Give a non-twink a copy of Invoke Death and you'd think you licked his sack).
when the boats were full I'd go kite the entrance to the castle in Gunthak. very similar mobs on the steps there and the mushrooms/drogmar in the area, while green/light blue to 50+, sometimes drop those clicky, one use healing items that look like mushrooms. You wanna see people freak out about how cool necro's are? Click the Word of Healing shroom during some downtimes and heal your whole group... (necro's can do THAT!?!?!)

Fear pathing in Dulak is fine. This works best, solo, on the first two boats.. by the third boat you will start to see more resists (at least at the levels you should be doing this, I go back some nights and clean house PLing people and/or farming gems, etc.. or, just to relax *giggle*).
Anyway. The key is, don't fear the pirate until it is almost to the gangplank, say, within 30 feet. Pull with darkness, some high aggro DoT, your pet (taunt off).. then fear as they approach the exit.. they trot right off.
Alone 49+ you can solo the the first boat and keep the dock clean with some time to med. Once you get your rogue pet, the second is easy. Add another pet class (or a melee friend that likes to run) and you are golden on either.
I did my first 6 AA on the first boat at 51 in 2 nights. Just a few minutes each cycle waiting for the respawn, perfect med break.
Once you outgrow these, the third boat is doable, but might be easier with a BST or Mage friend to help hold the pirates unless you snare them, in my experience it seems every 2 or 3 resist you at that age. Scary how fast they can eat your 53 rogue pet.
Just my 2cp.

I never fearkited too much there. agro kiting imo is better there anyways.. the zone is unique in that there is so many lvl boats to kill on, like previous posts indicated. Stormwave, Lady Dirulia are easiest. once u can clear those at will, step up to Dando.. once u clear dando, (which even at 50's they ll still be Db in a lot of cases) u can step up to Oceancrasher.. OC is a lil tougher coz the mobs on that boat have a larger aggro range/ hps, resists. If you dont wanna wait for a boat (usually camped by peeps coz of the gem drops, makes decent cash) u could do the cave, which is close to the entrance to the left where the soulstripper camp is, but some of the mobs there are higher lvl, which to a 65 there will still be some db's there, a lot of lbs tho.
It's not tremendous cash to make, but it is steady, and per trip u can get a few diamonds, and other various gems and if u happen to get captains (named) to spawn, u can get a decent piece here n there.. those captains loots dont sell for over 2 k anymore.. a lot of the named drops there have been gimpified. Captains are bout the same difficulty to kill as the regular mobs on the boat, not a huge difference in killing.. I think the most Ive ever gotten out of there in one trip was around 8 k in a few hours, but that was coz I got a couple captain spawns, and the worn golden tooth (21% or so haste necklace) which was at the time I think I sold for 5k..
All in all, technically, IF you wanted to, u could lvl 40-60+ here coz of the range of lvl mobs. However, you will get bored fast, and the XP is slow, and I have never seen a more repetitive zone in EQ.
BTW, if yer lookin for just xp, I think CoM would be faster fer ya. it's off of Emerald Jungle, kill undead, named drop better shit there than they do in Dulak and spawn faster. (no gem s in CoM tho)

Hiyas all.
I would say Dulak so far has been a good zone xp and loot wise. Boats have captains=300+pp bazaar items most mobs drop 6pp and then the gems which range from 36pp to 200pp. As for fear kiting you can do this one safley on stormwave. I have feared and cleared the whole boat god knows many times just kill those two gnomes on the ramp to the boat then start with the mast mob.
Darkness sick the 49 pet fear wack 1-2 more dots 1st being EB then sit down. They prob have the lowest hp for boat mobs and drop fast, you may need a refear with the 49 pet but with the 53 rogue darkness fear and scourge is all that is needed to kill em which mad for fast xping(well for me). I fyou get the captain same tatic but if yuo lack the rogue land 3 more dots including darkness, hes a little stronger than the others but he drops nice loot I.E. legings 1.3k bazaar, staff 650pp bazaar and some more bazaar stuff also a nice charm nodrop but nice little stats, but with the 53 pet you will be clearining the boat so fast that you will prob get him to pop 2+ times in your cmp there.
Also when you are 61 theres always the soulstripper to camp, takes a little practice to get right and to keep the camp clear but when he pops he drops a nice back slot or the soulstripper which sales for 2k min in bazaar, but he can be a git to pop  .
All in all I love dulak as a zone and plan on heading bck there at any level to farm xp or just say hello to the captains again :D
