Book of Dark Bindings

Hi all,
I am a new Gnome necro, just made 16th :D then while attempting to abtain the book of dark bindings in Nektulos I got mushed by a troll :( used my 1st black coffin retrieved my bod from a safe distance, whent invis and had invis drop about where i got dead the 1st time lol. figured it was too dangerouse to abtain the book there and did some research on the web. Alakazam said I could get the book from the DE gypsie in S Ro. No such luck, she did not sell it, I have allready tried the evil part of Shadow Haven, odd thing they had 4 books but not the book of dark bindings, I have tried going back to Aka`non, again no book. I have died more times trying to get this research book than I have my whole 16 levels (while trying to chat up the DE i was ambushed 2 times, 1st was db no biggie, second was a white conned Dry bone skellie and he caught me unprepared and made a meal of me, fear took too long to cast.) Needless to say I am getting a bit flustered, every site I look at says go to Necro guild in starting city, Aka`non does not have it. I will try the underbellie of Freeport but suspect ill get dead there too. I really want that root spell ;) any help will be greatly appreciated.

I allso want to say this is a great forum, lots of very helpfull people, and a coffin load of very helpfull information

1 more question and I'll stop my ramblings. now that I have quill and parchment I read that I won't need them till 50th and beyond. Is that right?

make an iksar and look in cabilis. I'm fairly certain I got mine there...then just utilize the shared bank slot and you're golden. You'll probably want to do the same thing for a few spells as you level up, too, that are only sold in cabilis and the evil outpost in OT.

you will find the book in the gulf of gunthak. and also correct that you dont need the quill and parchments on the research until you are doing the 50+ spells

There's no doubt about it though, evil gnomes get the short end of the stick when it comes to buying newbie spells and research stuff.

I had the same problem with Neriak. All you have to do is kill the Halflings in the Nektulos forrest until you are amiable to the guards, then you can enter Neriak no problem. :rolleyes:

Oh! you mentioned that a "Troll" killed you. I did not try and visit troll town to be honest. But I could get to the necro vendors no problem in the third gate. <_<

Yes! I too was an evil worshiping gnome. Screwed my faction in "Crushbone" killing orcs. B) B)

Go to Qeynos. The necromancer guild is underground and can be accessed from Qeynos North or South. From North you have to go down the aquifer thingie and run around trying to find the secret passage to the Necro guild. It's much easier from Qeynos South - Run to the PVP Court and go downstairs... look around until you see a path of bones on the floor.. follow it and it will lead you to the Necro guild. Once there look around for the "General Supplies" merchant (I believe)... basically the dude that sells parchments and quills... he'll have the Book of Dark Binding for a couple plat.

For a Gnome Freeport is the easiest place. You are KOS to to most things in Queynos too. Freeport is more open so go to the tunnels under the city and get it there.

The Gunthak book requires a 100 Research skill so for a newbie will not be useful yet. :ph34r:
