I am getting this alot. I just got home about a half hour ago and thought I would enjoy my daily doseage and went to log on and got a error that I could not connect to the login server...I know its not my connection it is the server. Got the saem thing yesterday. Anyone else getting this or know how to make it go away? I NEED EQ, k.

They're all b0rken. I've tried all 4 of the login servers, and I have the same difficulty. Something is preventing them from telling our EQ client to proceed.

I can log in just fine with the instant messenger I use, tho.

Same thing happend to me yesterday, at about 6:30 pm est then were fine and I could log on. Don't know what happened. Thank god for Neverwinter Nights.

Just keep mashing the enter key after you have put in your info seems after a bunch of tries it lets me in. Took about 15-30 mins but you'll get in=)

Lol know was it mashing the enter key that got you in? Or a higher being? Think about that. Kill an animal and offer it to satan, then, then you might just be able to log on.

Yah this is BS, here I am like 6hrs or so later (not sur eon time) AND I STILL CANT LOG ON TO A GAME I PAY FOR? This is really starting to piss me off havnt been on in 24hrs because it wont let me. THANK GOD FOR PORNO. Are the rest of you people on?

Grrrrr, i was away from EQ for a week and now i cant' log in two nights in a row......SoE staff is probably all out at the fan faire thing and closed down EQ :P I hate sony.....

Heh, they must have JUST put up that bulletin too. I was just on that site this morning seeing if they had any info on the login issues lol. Well, thankfully they're letting us know they're fixing it.......if they do, on the other hand, is another mystery

Tommarow you download said patch..go to sign in and...you connect!!! then you select server and click play...box pops up "error 1018: you currently have an active charecter on that server, try agian in a few minutes." wtfux? I see's it happening lol :( . Till tommorow.

I've been able to log in to the game but i've been doing something a lil different. I'm at work and unable to give you the exact wordings but here's what I've done to get into the game.

1) I ran the patcher but didn't hit play (let it sit there for a min till the rest is complete)
2) I opened my sony folder and found the file EQHOST.TXT (open that up)
3) After that is opened you'll see 5 lines containing eqlogin1.989 something: 15900 (or something along that line)
4) Change all of the eqlogin1's to eqlogin3 (make sure to change all of the lines containing eqlogin1) Don't mess with the rest of the stuff.
5) After you have changed the eqlogin1's to eqlogin3's save it and close out the other programs. Hit PLAY on the patcher and log yourself in.
It may still take a min to get in but you'll be able to get in. There is a catch to this though. Since I've done this I have yet to be able to log out fully I've had to ctrl alt delete and end the task. So if you do this you may have to do the same thing.
Hope it works for you all and hopefully they get it fixed soon.

I saw this posted on a forum and it worked... very easy... type in password... hold down enter... =) worked for me and a few others...

I was about to say I haven't had this problem til I realized I haven't turned EQ off in a few days :)

But my bf has had this happen a few times over the last few days, but with persistent trying has always managed to get in in less than 30min of trying. Usually lets you in on the 4th or 5th try it seems, especially if you completely quit EQ each try.

this works, I ve done it before.. however, you do risk getting banned if caught using this method.. That login server is for GMs, or tech support who use it to login for examining things when things aren't runnin right.
