Anyone here know anything about IRQ's?? I contacted Sony tech support awhiel back and they told me to fix the problem i'm having I'd have to change my IRQ settings because my video card is sharing the same with other items. I'm not a very computer literate person, so i havent' really tried anything by myself. I just know that i can't find a way to change the settings for the IRQ on anything.If anyone could help me out, that would be great.
In detail, my problem is as follows. In certain zones, so far only Feerott, Innothule and Swamp of No Hope, my computer seems like it's getting MAJOR lag out of those zones and when i zone into another place that usually doesn't get that kind of "lag", It carries over and i have to camp to server and relog back in to get it to go away. I can't do anything in these zones at all except walk through them. It took me 20 minutes in a straight line to go from GUkta to the PoK book in Innothule because it lagged so badly. I couldnt even fight in Swamp of No Hope with my necromancer, let alone be able to efficiently kite Spectres in Feerott. And on another note, it won't allow me to go any further then 15 at the highest on my clip plane in any zone. Even the ones that have only one other person in them and it's fairly barren, it still lags all to hell from moving the clip plane up to far.
My friend and I did some trial and error with both of our computers....I have identical, if not better hardware in my computer than his, yet he can raid with 100+ people with his clip plane set from 75-100 and not feel any difference at all. Yet on my computer, I slow down to a crawl when i near the nexus stone if there are more then 10 people around it, let alone MGB'ers :( It's not my internet connection because we tested both PCs on the same connection, although the modem has came into my mind now and then. Maybe it's an out of date PoS. I Just dont' have any computer places around where I live that can help. The nearest one is almost 3 hours away /sigh Damn rednecks....
Anyways, if anyone would be able to help or maybe point me to a site where i can find some help that would be wonderful.
