Lookin' for advice

Hey all. i'm having a blast with my new 26 necro that I've been playing lately. I've been out of the game for almost 2 years, so i'm having lots of fun discovering what I can do both in the new zones, and with all the old world empty.

Since I am obviously having so much fun, one of my friends decided he'd finally give EQ a try. He's decided he likes it, and wants to do a duo once a week or so with some dedicated characters. I'm looking for advice on what good combos are. He's interested in a melee/caster hybrid of some type and has expressed interest in a BST, and I'd be happy trying anything but a bard. I love the bard, but i can't BE the bard. Any advice welcomed and thanks in advance.

Two necros, or necro shaman.

Necro and a ranger....its like having 2 pets :P Seriously though...That is a blast to your mid 50s, after that a shaman would be more useful....so Jeb is probably correct.

Necro Shammy may be tops for a duo, but if your friend likes the BST better...go for it. That may turn out to be a very nice combo until the upper lvls, then the Shammy will shine.
