Losing sanity?

Does anyone else ever dream about EQ? Or Am I the only sad sad individual? I woke up this morning fresh from a dream of me getting a fabled robe of the ishiva :( . why me dreamed about this I don't know. This isnt the first time its ever happened either....anyone else ever do this lol?

I'm pretty sure I've had one or two (if not more) EQ dreams in my day..

Back when Final Fantasy Tactics came out for PS, I played that game every minute I had time to play it (which was alot) and I would often fall asleep playing it. Several times I would wake up and see battles and figure out tactics as they were played out on my floor.. so yeah, I certainly see it happening, if it hasn't already happened to me.. :lol:

I have never dreamed about EQ....

....But then I only play for 12-18 hours a day. 6 days a week. :)

That happens because you mind is engaged in a certain similar activity for lengthy periods of time and even tho you feel the need to rest, you brain remains active until it finally "colapses".

However you body still responds to the impulses and while you sleep, your brain will still try to "control" those impulses. That's why i asked if you played a lot and went straight to bed.

It helps to take a break every now and then, and if you've finally decided to "conciously" sleep (not fall asleep over the keyboard, no) stand up, take a shower, drink something or eat something and go to sleep. This will help your body and brain to focus on other activities before you go to bed (moving around, changing body temperature on the shower and forcing your stomach to work after eating).

And as for FFT and FF7.. I still play them both as well, just recently got my 2nd copy of FFT back from my friend (used to have it and the official guide).. I'd love to get the guide again, but it's been a tad hard to find since it's out of print now.

I often have EQ-related dreams, but it's comforting to know that, even asleep, I remember to feign death to avoid aggro. It's also quite funny to dream about incompetent druid and cleric group-members, and tanks that can't hold aggro. ;)

You mean Dreaming about EQ is NOT normal ?? Ouch ! Well, then again no one ever accused me of being "normal". Draz...12 - 18 hours a day ,6 days a week , hmm, seek help....maybe make an appointment with Salizarr ! LOL Actually I am just jealous Draz...Does daydreaming about EQ count too? Seems I do that all too often whether at work or home. :rolleyes:

LOL, I loved FFT. I still bust it out and play it now and then. I played that game for hours on end. I used to have FF7 and FFT dreams but cant say that I have EQ dreams. If I did, I dont remember them now.

Many Many times over the past 4 years I have dreamt about EQ. I really hate it when I do because when I start dreaming about it I start feeling burnt out with playing it. I guess I use it as a signal to take a break for a few days hehe.

Well at least I know some people out there have these dreams lol. The general consensus doesnt make me feel good though lol :( . I have theese dreams all the time like literally 2 or 3 nights of the week I have them lol :( . And yes I play alot...It is very disgusting the amount of time i play and I am to ashamed to admit it so I wont :D .

My worst EQ dream ever was in raid to finally get EP flagged, when computer locked up. Look inside, mouse has been living inside the computer for a few days, tried eating my video card, ripped video card out of slot, chewed cables, and torn chips outta boards. I just looked at computer, threw hands up in frustation, and went to bed, in the exact same position I then woke up in. So I laid in bed (actually awake now, no longer dreaming) thinking my nice new computer was totally hosed.

I have rarely experienced the joy I felt when I realized that it had been a dream.

(Would have liked to have gotten EP flagged, though)

I've had plenty of EQ dreams, can never remember them in detail though, usually they involve running for miles and miles and not getting anywhere fast. My Boyfriend woke me up in the middle of the night screaming "WE'RE NOT GROUPED!" which amused me somewhat :).

I had dreams of not only EQ but other games as well. I don't know if you all remember/played a game called 7th Saga for the SNES?
When that game came out I just couldn't stop playing it and i went 2 days straight (seriously) playing that game with no sleep and i collapsed. I was on winter school break and after collapsing i was so much connected to the game that i kept on "playing" it in my dreams and i couldn't get any rest until my father gave me something to actually force me to "sleep". He's a doctor.....

I had the worse nightmare tho after i woke up from that slumbering 7th Saga state that i was. Both my parents were in my room waiting with that disapproving kind of look :)

Apart from that episode, the only other one like this i had was during sophomore year in college with Might and Magic 7. I was part of the volleyball team at that time and we had a state championship coming when i discovered MM7. I disapeared for almost 2 weeks! Gladly the team won the championship.

After this i decided to understand what happened to me and try to explain it to myself and i sought professional help. That's why i explained here what you guys should do to avoid this "dream-awake" kinda slumbering states we can fall into sometimes.

I have never had any problems regarding this ever since, but i struggled to set my limits and abide to them.
Video games can be addictive just like any other activity, i mean, i know people who are addictive to working out that they spend 6-7 hours inside a gym and working out is supposed to be a good and healthy thing right? Not until you become like them. Same thing for games, they are great but you can never let it control you! If you are playing and start thinking about things you should be doing but aren't because you just can't get away or are just hoping to get a shard drop from the next mob and can't type /q or just sit and camp, pull the plug....I mean it, just pull the plug, you'll feel better :)

Yes i did seek help, help to understand what happens in my mind that is strong enough to keep me playing even tho i know, in the back of my head, there are other things that need to be done. I was searching for explanation, not rescue.

I understood how things work and that's how i am able to control it. Most people can't just say "i'll quit now" they simply can't, trust me :)

most my eq dreams are fun.

The One I remember mostis mychardok\presidents\train dream
I was following raid around chardok looking at the walls and saying "so this is what the new revamped chardok looks like" (before chardokb, which is weird how close to it i was) I didnt want to get lost, but I knew by clicking on the lantern things I would get secret wall, so I went into this room, it was like a bar scene, instead of people sitting at the bar table on stools, it was presidents, abe licolb, jefferson, and washington, I stayed far away I didn't know if I was KOS, suddenly washington and lincoln's head turned toward me and I ran out exclaiming to myself "I agroed the presidents!" and headed to this zone out area where this dude who i refered to as ranger dude was running up spiral steps trying to get to zone out crying like a baby well crying hysterically desperate cause this alligater was chomping his leg as he was running, I didnt want to get agro but I stuck my staff at alligater trying to push it away,.-it ended there pretty much

another I was just riding a boat through this watertown run down buildings looking for this freeport guard spawn, i found a building with a froglok in it, then zapped into family gathering with a sling explaining to my grandpa how i broke my arm pulling freeport guards, explaining darkness resisting and such.

another I was in this area looking inside this hut when this sk dude came at me, and he was poking me with a thumbtack, i was desperate to get the thumbtack out of his hand and I started poking him in the helmet and thighs with the thumbtack.

another, i was at scarlet desert going down ramp as I was greeting people doing crystal meth, asking to try, lots of groups were there as i walked downplateu ramp.

before i got into eq i dreamed of an HG. i think at least vaguely remember it, or is itjust some sort of odd memory placement not sure.

but another one recently was where I was in west kaana\east karana\or one of them karanas walking and HGs were everywhere roaming about, some were in tathe hg form, some in that WC hill giant form, different types like a huge gathering or something, I was matrix style flipping around HG kicking and swinging around it punching flipping it around, like a monk or something. was fun.
