I know you're all going to hate me for this but I was farming my Elaborate hinge and I got it after about 4 scrap collector kills and an hour or so in PoI, and it got me looking into the 1.5 more. Does the blacksmithing combine have to be done by me or can I loan it out to someone to do the combine? I'm assuming no as all of the materials are nodrop. correct?
And if no, any good ways to level up Blacksmithing relativly easily, I'd rather not get lucky on a really nasty drop only to fail the combine and squander my resources and time.
Thanks,
Nalyk

"For the record, I did this tonight. Starting with a skill of 1 I got to 106 for a total cost of 152p in around 30 minutes."
Of course this was 4 years ago.. so I bet they redid tradeskills, huh?

Cheers, I knew there was probably a guide floating around somewhere. Usually I'm pretty hand with the searching, but no luck this time.
Thanks, I may try and knock that out tonight.

For the record, that method of leveling up blacksmithing still works flawlessly. It's quick easy and it gets the job done, thanks for the advice again.

Whether you got the drop from the first or 101st drop, congratulations! Yes, the resulting blacksmithing combine is NO DROP. Frankly, I forget how painful the tradeskill portion was but at least you can kill some time working on it while you're LFG or just tired of the usual solo spot.

I appreciate your congratulations! I got up to watabi, the chica that you have to talk to in Natimbi last weekend. All in all I'm rather pleased. I got super lucky in paineel with the tome as well, the old gargoyle was ready and waiting for me. Admittedly though I was rather disappointed being so lucky with the drops (though of course now that I say that my 2.0 drops will never happen ;)). I had never been so far down into paineel before; and that whole nuke to summon me to the top of the roof is an entertaining mechanic!
My 1st character was a cleric back in 2004, just when PoP came out iirc, so those were kind of the new "hot" zones so to speak, so I didn't really get much of a chance to go out on my own and go explore which is one of the things that makes the necro so darn fun.

the hardest part of the 2.0 is the orb., the other 2 pieces you get from mobs you spawn at a certain point RCoD

RCoD drops is doable solo (85 good gear) but better if you have atleast someone to tank the 3 mobs so u can burn them down.... since you are lvl 75 ish ... 3 toon grp with mercs should be fine.... CoA run at lvl 75 need probly 3 groups to be safe ( Mercs dont work there) .... or a decent geared 85 group can go in and kill for your orb ( 2 grps) if you want more then one orb....
