Ornate Silk - yes or no.

Could someone please post the full ornate silk item list including expanded description boxes (or their links).

I have heard some good things and some not so good things about ornate silk and was wondering if it was worth putting the plat into it, or if anyone could recommend better stuff that is available to a soloer, so no raid nodrops plz.

Too lazy to go myself but everquest.allakhazam.com go to quests by zone click plane of tranquility orante silk quest then click on items with blight in name under rewards. Ornate is nice but for soloing most of it is nicer to get earthweave for.

Arms are nice, boots are pretty cool, for its value might as well buy the head robe can eat penis, gloves not bad if you use neuro lots, bracers are decent if your FT sucks kinda overpriced imo, pants are usefull. Only piece i really hate is robe. Buy a better one.

For those of you thinking of purchacing an ornate silk pattern and want to know what to do with it, here go's.

From bazaar get 1 to 3 ethereal silk swatches, approx 90pp ea on Quellious. The number needed depends on the item, but I used 2 for each of the boots, sleeves, turban and gloves. May be only 1 needed for some of these but 2 worked for me.

Then get a Tanaan embroidery needle from Sherin Matrick in PoK, p100, 1480. This will cost around 105 to 140pp depending on your charisma. You only need one of these as it is not consumed in the combine, and you can use it again.

Get out some plat. You will need 500pp per pattern you want to turn into an item. Take this money to PoT and hail Bor Wharhammer (zone in and run out door and right. He is Dwarf in building next to bank). Hail Bor and he will tell you a story. Type in the following:

What emblem?

What silk?

What swatches?

Make sure you have an inventory slot free to receive a combine container, then hand Bor 500pp. You will receive a sewing kit and an emblem (on cursor under sewing kit).

Put pattern, needle, swatches and emblem in sewing kit and combine.

Final combine is no fail, so anyone can do it.

Actually, there's only 3-4 droppable robes in EQ I'd rather have over the ornate robe so I wouldn't say it "eats penis." The RoAE, RoAI are two, others are debatable. It's not a bad robe at all. It is true you *can* get the quest components for Robe of the Grand Oracle in the bazaar, but for the 100k you can the ornate robe for. The RoD on the pants is awesome to have, the sleeves are probably the best piece (mana preservation) and wrists aren't bad if your not capped on flowing thought....

Yah ornate robe isnt to awful but i would deffinatley take Robe of ancient earth over it for like half the price also <_< . Just dont like the robe that much for ornate i guess. Affect isnt that appealing to me either but I guess all the ornate chests effects kinda blow <_< . I would deffinatley take RoAE over ornate tho.

I got the boots, sleeves, and turban.

Boots and sleeves have good focus effects.
I only got the turban becasue I couldn't find anything better for the price. I'm not paying 50k for an Earthweave Cap.

I'd grab a bracer, but for 120k I'm gonna pass for now...

I am pretty certain that the effects DON'T stack. I it should take the highest percentage of savings off of your focus items:

ie. you have 3 items, 10% 20% and 30% mana savings on a certain spell (not going to try and come up with good examples), only the 30% item will activate when you cast that spell.

Just remember that MP4 saves you 10% mana on all spels and Neurocis saves you 20% on Nuerotoxcin only. Ideally it's worth it to have both and personally I started with the sleeves because overall it saves more mana.

I have a full st of ornates minus the 2 bracers..they r just to damn hard to get and too expensive to buy plus in my opinion i wouldnt waste my time as a necro with FT gear anyways we dont need it :rolleyes:

silk bracers are easy easy to get...

mini boss(bird forget his name) in SE tower in BoT is 1 grpable easy and drops the bracers commonly. Get some friends and kill him once a day and in a week all in your reg grp will have em.
