Hi everyone!
First of all, I wanna say that it's a really nice forum, and I'm very happy to join it!
I hope you can help the great newb I'm!
I'm a Necro DE of lvl 38, and I didn't find a really good tactic for soloing yet.
Can one of you maybe help me? Have I to Root? Snare? Nuke a lot?
See you soon!

The best technique at your level i'd say it fear kite.
Snare a mob, throw a dot if the mob isn't that close, sick pet and cast fear. Sit and med, when fear breaks recast it and keep the mob snared and turn your pet's taunt off.

Yeah, you can fear kite in EW for great ep, and shawl quest pieces. And just a few more levels you can kill the giants there too. Go to EW, keep the wall/water on your left, till you reach the second set of dwarf huts. Stay on the right side of them, between the water and the broken giant garrison, kill ulthorks and rhinos...walruses are ok, but not the exp as some of the rhinos will still easily be white/yellow to you and good exp. Keep the ulthork tusks to turn in to the othmir in CS for faction, if you are into that kind of thing. Snare/Pet/Fear...you know, the necro thing works GREAT there, and your pet should be big enough to proc the velium weapons for a little more damage. Only thing is, you have to stay up the rhinos butt to keep them in range, and re-fear as needed.

The best technique for you at this level is Fear Kiting. However, you should familiarize yourself with other techniques as well, because fear kiting is most effective in zones which you have plenty of room with little or no chance of adds. The basic techniques that I'm familiar with are as follows:
1) Fear Kiting (A necro's bread) snare, fear, send pet, and do whatever else you want.
2) Aggro Kiting (A Necro's butter) snare, apply enough dots on mob to keep you number one on its hate list, send pet with taunt off, keep snared, and keep the hate up so your pet doesnt get eaten.
3) Root Rot (shammy/wiz technique it seems) Root and nuke or dot till said mob is dead.
4) Quadding (something that I wont get into as it seems to be the purview of Wiz's and Druids, which is not to say we Necro's can't have four mobs on a string at any one time, we just dont have the AoE nukes that make this a truly beneficial process in my opinion)
5) Charming/Charm kiting (Chanter/Necro/Bard technique) This technique is relatviely self explanatory, we charm a mob to use as a pet against another mob. This is a good technique in those situations where you have 2-3 static mobs in a relatively close area, where they are a risk of becoming adds and shredding your summoned pet. Charm one mob, and have it attack the other, you now have half the enemies, and all being well, one dead mob and one almost dead mob at the end that you can then root rot, etc... The kiting comes into play when/if charm breaks and you find yourself running around trying to buy time to re-charm one of the two mobs that are now chasing you and screaming for blood.
