Research skillup guide? or consistancies?

is there ANYTHING that can be gotten dropped every time or from certain mobs instead of words being random EVERYWHERE? are there any guides for skillin it up? and mostly, are there any combine consistancies....what i mean by that....here and example...lets say a rune+ a quill+ a parchment will combine and ANY rune will do the job? that way you arent looking for certain words/runes but juts combining whatever drops and/or buying the cheapest ones in the bazaar or merchants that ppl have sold them too?

and also are there any all merchant bought combines that work for skillups? thanks

Spells from each level trivial within 2 points of each other, from what I've seen.

Ballpark trivials:

16 = 21
20 = 41
24 <= 71
29 <= 101
34 = 122
39 = 144
44 = 162
49 (excluding Dead Men Floating) = 180s

All the above take just the words. I often find Words of Ethereal while vendor diving, those alone make Lich, and require no other words.

As far as I've found, we're stuck with (a) random drops, or (B) purchasing skill points from our trainers. No easy vendor stock bits, or every-time drops that can be farmed.

For a very in-depth guide to research, I suggest the Mythiran Tower, (http://mythiran.allakhazam.com/) though it's out of date for high-end practice runes.

thats nice, it really is, but what im also looking for is a combine that i dont have to find specific runes/words for....like if any will work...just like how i saw on eqtc that theres many recipes with just about any rune + quill and parchment but im not sure if its for ALL runes, etc...something with consistancy so i dont have to search out certain words in the laggy bazaar.

There are no words out there that will make any spell if that's what you're asking. All the words are specific to certain spells. Some words are used for more than one spell, but you have to combine them with the other words for that specific spell.

The key to the bazaar is to turn the clipping plan to 0. Hit the "page down" button to look completely at the ground. Hit backspace to use the LoY map to navigate around and click on the traders name in the /bazaar window to autoface that trader. That should help eliminate the lag, just click on peoples feet in order to target them and buy from them, same with banking there.

My document contains the info needed as to when to use a quil and parchment. But in short, only the lvl 49 spell DMF for group needs a quil and parchment, all other spells above 50 need a quil and parchment, below doesn't. Necros dont' use runes, though there may be some combines for other classes Necros can do for them. They aren't listed in the document, but you can find them on EQ traders.

easiest way to GM research is dump 5 trainer points into it every level... only costs about 3ish k if I remember right... which I have made way more than that selling spells.

i agree... i'm at 200 and bought my whole way there... the cost scales well enough so it won't be that big of a hit at whatever level you're at

My research is at 172 and i earned all but 20 or so points. For my research i not only combine necros spells but i also research shammy and druid spells. As for getting components for my spells i spend time in bazaar or LDoNS.
