Noob human bertoxx armour quest

Probably been a while since you heard such a noob question, no?

Also, this may be totally irrelevant to you.

Anyway, I'm 11 Hum Necro on Al'Kabor server (mac) [very nice, btw. None of the nerfs I read about on PC servers]

I am sick of spending time on noob armour quests.

First question: Should I bother? Seems a waste of time for minor XP and minor items. Better off to buy other swag, no?

Second: If I bother, I only want the robe. I don't know if your quest is different, but I need Giant King Snake Skins. Those bastards are NEVER around. I've wasted days on a 10+ Mana robe. So is there a trick to spawning the bastards?

Finally: If I abandon quest, when should I buy a better robe? And what to buy?

I've also had to hunt for giant king snake skins in Qeynos Hills (for my Bertox Cleric) and I feel your pain.

Best thing to do is ask if a ranger or druid with tracking can help you locate the critter - running around on your own may be a thankless task - I ran about for two weeks (thanks SOE) until I had a ranger help me track them down. I went around killing all other snakes I could find - not sure if that helped them spawn or not.

Should you do the quest? I think so, so long as you don't get super irritated...after all, you do play the game for fun, so if a challenge becomes stress, leave it. But they quests are usually fun enough and I always get a feeling of accomplishment when I finish one, that I tend to do them if i can.

Sadly enough SOE constructed the drops on some of these quest items to be so rare that you can sometimes be high enough level when you complete the quests that 1) you no longer need the item, or 2) you no longer xp up since you are in your 20s and the mobs are green cons.

I have successfully done noob armore for my WE Bard, WE Ranger, Erud Necro and Bertox Cleric (Human). I gave up on a couple, tho.

In my opinion, newbie quests aren't worth the time and trouble. Buy some "crap" gear in the bazaar, i spent 500 plat and pimped out till i hit 45 then started looking for better stuff. Level up, the higher the level you are the easier it is to earn Plat, via summon corpse or just plain killing mobs and farming gear. By the time you finish quest, you're gear will probably not look that great anyways.

If you can't afford 500plat, find some uber guy in PoK willing to buy spider silks or bone chips, there's always somebody and get stacks and astacks, saw a guy yesterday offereing 100 plat for a stack of spider silks. was willing to buy up to 20 stacks...

Get stuff like cougar claw or orc fang earrings for 5 plat and a moonstone rings for 20plat that'll get ya somewhere and then when you can kill them yourself, you can farm them and make money back selling them to people starting off there new charcters looking for cheap newbie gear...

Cool thanks. I already gave up on it. We went and killed the Muglwup or whatever the hell it is called and I'm using the Soiled Evokers Robe till I can buy something better.

It's too farking boring walking around QH for a 10 mana robe.
