Was messing around in Argath and tried to FD split a small group of mobs around one of the catapults and they all reset as soon as I hit Death's Effigy. After I have them split up and DE they immediately reset and pop back together. Hope this isn't the case in most areas, I like being able to split stuff up ;)

is it in a kind of a pit? long ridges around the outside, possibly a ph inside?

Don't think so. When zoning in from the GH I just followed the path all the way to the wall and tried to split the 3 aliens around some wood structure.. Didn't look like any special place, maybe it was done so necros can't split em and root/rot there :P

I like how some mobs seem to have a random ability to both summon, and the health level at which summoning is triggered.

i explored the area very extensively, though it was the beginning of beta. i never saw linked mobs, just tightly packed ones that could be split.

they could have changed it though

Yeah, in Beta (a few weeks ago), they were easily split. But tried the same area when it went live, and weird mechanics going on- seems like they are linked together. Snare, run away, snare one close to where I want to kill it, DE, then they all (3) pop back where the first mob is.
