ID4 not working on Insidious Retrogression

Could anyone confirm that? used the Reformed Sand Belt and on Torbas Acid Blast it improves the dmg and on IR not... had i bad luck with % chek in ID4 or is IR not effected?

dunno, when looking at this spell (48 atm so can't tell for sure) it isn't a DD. It appears to be rather a debuff (with an initial damage component) so wouldn't be affected by the Improved Damage focus.

This is right. The 100 blows effect on the monk Tranquil staff is the same way. It's a debuff, but has a DD component. They're not quite the same, although one could certainly argue that they should act the same.

Well, Fizzy, why don't they? Ignite Bones casts an illusion as well as having a DD component, but it can be focused. It has to do with the type of spell. More specifically, with what EQ has listed as the spell "category." in the spell list. Take a look at IR - category is "one off." Ignite Bones (and all focusable DDs) have "direct dmg" as the category.

hunted yesterday in Crypt of Nadox and used IB... but the spell didnt Foccuesed either... i think the ID4 effects only pure DD spells like our Torbas line or the conglaction and ignite line without the illusion...

Not sure on this... IR4 says instant spells only... IR has a long length of time involved.

I was, however, doing over 500 damage with Ignite Bones when I was wearing an Imperial Wardog Collar (ID 2)

saw reports of burning affliction effects working on IR because of its spell length. worth a try if ya got it.
