Woh sweet! Based on the way the 4 epic drawings they showed look, I think theres a good chance we'll actually get a sweet looking epic this time around!

I hope we get some cool new stuff, there are so many cool things necros could get! I think we should get a new illusion. "Diety form" With like some crazy scary looking huge tenticle guy with a skull for a head or something. Who knows, the sky is the limit with what creative things you could give necros and still be building on their existing concept.

Bah, once again they do nothing but make uber high leveled zones. Never do they ever tend to the lower leveled people. I don't have the time to get up to that level lol. My highest is a 42 SK and i've been playing off and on for 3 years now. I would have atleast thought they'd find a new race or something. We need a new evil race....we're becoming outnumbered hehe. I do love the new idea with the Epics 2.0 buuuuuuuut I'll only /drool over the ones everyone else gets hehe. Too much time involved and not enough actual time to do em.

The new epic weapons looked awesome. As long as the necroepic looks better.
I wonder if the famed "duckhead" will go away ?
ROFL I really hope so.

Yea watch they give us something like a swan head this time. lol the swan stick like the duck stick just shorter bill. and btw it looks like there will be 3 kinds of epic 2.0s. 1 for solo, on for group, and one for raid. if u look at the url it says everquest.sony.blah.blah.wizard.SOLO.html

hmmm maybe we get a swan, duckbilled platapus and a .... what else looks like a duck?

will the epics change as we have them or will we have to do them over?

Xavier

Basically epic 2.0 is going to be a totally different quest. Which means you can have both of them. Its unkown at this if you are required to have your first one or not just to do the quest. if you do, man are there a shitload of sk's thats gonna be pissed.

Okie, I agree, you fanatic high level 65 people have a right to get new stuff also. I still won't buy it, jeez I don't even bought GoD  but I am glad Omen will make lots of people happy. I also wish our epic will be a wicked looking scythe or something, all made of bones with pieces of a dead shroud floating just under the blade *dreams on*. I also hope we get new undead illusion, something scary.

I, quite frankly, didn't see another expansion coming THIS soon. I mean, GoD hasn't been live for very long and they've already put out another one?? Leave it to Sony hehe. Always building on instead of fixing what's already there. I would have rather seen a few more patches fixing the current bugs....i'm tired of the mobs spawning half in the ground. Maybe fix some of the areas where the mobs suddenly go under the world yet they can still kill you...that's been going on since Kunark came out and they have yet to fix it. Like i said before though, I'm proud they brought new quests for better epics, hopefully they will be worthwhile this time (Wasted my time getting that stupid SK Epic.....i just wielded it for the graphic, even back when i first got it lol)

And why would they make even more zones available in Gates before fixing the problems they're having in the current zones?? It just suprises me how far some corperations can stick their heads up their asses. I mean, all that bullshit must be blinding them from the problems, because Verant was always ontop of getting bugs fixed before they implemented anything new (Not saying they were perfect, but atleast they paid attention to us at times).

THe games became too easy anymore though....kind of takes the fun away. Damn near everyone has a set pattern they go for leveling up, so it's impossible to find anyone to group with that isnt' already in Kurn's, Paludal, DSP, DL, OT.....it just bores me to go to the same zone...and it gets even more boring when you know no one on your server and you solo....I have barely anyone to talk to and i haven't chosen a guild yet. *shrugs* Oh well, guess i'll just screw having fun and just rocket myself to 65 and have the best time of my life filling out applications(applications?? Yes, most of the raiding guilds on the Druzzil REQUIRE written, well typed, documentation that you are uber enough for their guild) for uber guilds and spending hours a night to get off of the probation list for loot rights. /sarcasm off.....

Well, that's all i have to say about it....sure, it mostly wasn't even about the expansion, but i felt like ranting because I've had a shitty day. Sorry if i offended any of the people who are 65 and in the raiding guilds, i meant no disrespect...(/bow, Jeb is God) Well, you all take care.

There's no more money in fixing something everyone already has bought...new expansions bring in money...thus they don't fix, they build...this is just one more example of why there will be quite a large exodus from EQ in the next year. I'm not worried about EQ collapsing but I wouldn't be shocked by server mergers rather then splits.

Gieger

By mergers, do you mean a loss in customers?? Because i was thinkign about the same thing as well. I dont' really see many people staying in EQ once EQ2 and WoW arrive. I plan on staying mainly because i don't want to spend the money to upgrade my computer just to play it. I've already had to spend quite a bit on this one just to meet EQ's standards as it is.

Aye, as the new games come out the customer base of EQ will slowly start to dwindle. As the server populations decrease for a certain period of time you will see the the servers that remain stagnant be merged into one server.

I imagine that most people will stay but a lot of people will move on to test the waters of the newer games and either stay there or come back. If they come back they may find that they are on a new server. :)

I would bet eq has a life of a couple more years in it... as those people with uncompleted goals stick with the game. Though EQ2 and WoW are definitely going to hurt EQ.

I suppose one way to look at more expansions for the higher level content, when they begin to merge servers, the more high level content the better to make sure they aren't too overcrowded and help hasten eq's demise.

Xavier

Eq2 wont hurt EQ in the slightest. Yes peeople will leave. But in the end you must consider that sony has 2k worth of new players every month. And after playing EQ2 beta, I can assure you people will play for a month and come back.

True the graphics are better. But the game play is horrible, the combat is horrible. The content is low compaired to EQ. And the quests are either insanely long or unrewarding.

The storylines stay the same, the gameplay changed and was not for the better.

WoW is a good game but most eq players will play both. Its not the same as EQ and the gameplay is a totally different genre. WoW is going to be on of those games that will be additional to what you already play. It will lower the amount of playtime people will be on eq. But it wont damage the customer base as bad as you think.

Life is not the movies, Oh look a belt with a live fish in it kewl! And then a belt comes out with a live mini shark in it. People are still going to buy the fish belt. There is something to be said for those that are there first.

It may drop thier sales for a short time, but after a bit they all come back.

Ok, first of all, EQ2 will definetly not cost anywhere near 50$ a month. It will be like 15$, and for 21 dollars a month you can have a subscription to EQ2, EQ, and Planetside, which you can already do.

Secondly, there will be alot of people leave for EQ2, but they will be the low end casual gamer. EQ2 was mad specifically for those people. That is sony's answer to new content for the people that say in the low range. That's why they havn't had a new low level expansion in a LONG time. They know those kinds of people will jump ship every time a new game comes out. Don't get me wrong either, there's no question that I will be all over EQ2 when it comes out.

Lastly, the people that are in the high end of this game are not going to be leaving for another game. THey may screw around, but they'll be back. They've already invested years into EQ and once they start playing another game and realize that they have to be newbies all over again, they always come back.

EQ is not going anywhere. It's been here for 5 years now, and it will be here for another 5 years, unless the world ends or Jesus Christ returns before then. ;)
