Okay Ive been doing Plaguebones in DL for awhile, and I think ive found the most efficient method, I'm now 43 and soon to ding 44, WEWT new spells! Let me share this with you...
First, HOW TO GET THERE: Easiest way if you cant get a wizard to port you is to take the teleport in Nexus. Just continue straight ahead down the hall after you zone into nexus from bazaar. Once at the spires in DL, its a 30 second jog over to the camp. Head south, or straight ahead from the direction you should be facing when you zone in. You will come up to a city with spires and pyramids everywhere. Just cast sense dead, and you should run right into them...setup camp on the pyramid in front of the entrance.
Here is what I have learned...
1. So far this is the best(by best I mean fastest and easiest) EXP I could find for 39-44. I tried back side of Karnor's Castle in Dreadlands(too much work, not as efficient), and stuff in Echo Caverns(exp isnt as fast from what I can tell).
2. The loot isnt all that great, so far I've probably made about 200-300pp in all my time spent there, but you get bonechips and the occasional research component.
3. Here is the best/easiest strategy I have found for killing the plaguebones...
3.a Buff pet with augment death, turn taunt OFF!
3.b Pull with darkness, you can single pull all of them even if theyre on top of each other which they commonly are.
3.c Cast eterneties torment (lvl 39? Undead only dot). This lasts for the entire fight, and is key to doing this efficiently.
3.c Run ahead a little further, I usually like to run to the right of the pyramid(if youre facing it) because the feared mob will always head to the left, and this gives you some space. Cast Venom of Snake. They resist every now and then, but just recast and hope you dont get 2 or 3 heh.
3.d Cast Panic dead
3.e Run up to the top of the pyramid in front of the plaguebone pyramid, cast Call of Bone, sit and med.
3.f If the fear sticks fully it will usually run out exactly or close to the same time darkness wears off. Save your mana, dont re-darkness. The mob will either do one of three things depending on his location when fear and darkness wears of: 1. He will turn and attack your pet(usually this doesnt happen if taunt is off) 2. If he is far enough away he will just stand there and do nothing, thus pet will beat him down and you have an even EASIER kill. 3. He will turn tail and run back to his spawning point in the plaguebone room. If this happens, and you are sitting atop the pyramid like I advise, you will see him running. Just sit tight and when he gets in aggro range of you again he will start heading for you...simply re-fear him and let pet finish him off.
Also, VC as necessary...you should be in CoB the whole time except for when youre VCing.
With this method I could take the whole plaguebone camp with mana to spare. Another bonus to this, once you get the hang of it its so easy you can do other things while youre hunting and you forget all about your exp bar. I usually tab over to this website and check out stuff, research quests on alakhazams, chat in the serverwide necrotalk channel etc.
Hope this helps!
