View Full Version : what to farm

Well, it's finally happened...Hammers from droga are pretty much unwanted, what I used to sell for 40k won't sell for 10k and that's just not worth my time. Acrylia caverns loot will sell for 10-20k...eventually, so my question is what is worthwhile to farm merely to sell for large amounts of platinum.

Tradeskill components seem to be in demand, but if I can't get them while exping it's just too long of a camp to acrew enough to make significant cash. Dragon bags with weight reduction go for a nice penny or three but the one week respawn and constant contention from other people soloing them make it rare to get one a week.

So...what's selling. If it's soloable by anyone, I'm pretty confident I can farm it...I just don't know where to go anymore to make money.

Well riwwi is still my prefered farm , boring as chit, crap ex, but that one named mob can net me 120k, ie hardened serpent scale legs.
I prefer to spend maybe 4 hrs in 1 camp and get 200k and be bored chittless than 8 hrs somewhere else.

If you are extremely desperate you can camp SCHW in Velks's, 3k a pop on my server sometimes 4k and they sell extremely fast. You can camp all of Veksar Jeb which will be good money and some twinkage stuff too, heres a site if you havent seen it before. Veksar farming. (http://web.syr.edu/~tjmyers/platfarm/veksar.html)

I know you're time looted and stuff, but those are just my opinions since im only a 63 necro, try Riwwi like Bones said, i hear its good stuff.

I went to riwwi last night...again, no named spawned. I killed the 4 golems, then 2 mobs in the east room, one mob in the west room, and a roaming noc whatever in the west room. 8 mobs per cycle+ the 2 gladiators and it bored me to sleep. NO NAMED spawned in almost 3 hours. It's enough to make a lizard cry....(if we do cry at all....)

Frankly its like that wherever I go nowadays. I was farming in veksar, that got nerfed. I was farming in Riwwi, that got nerfed. Recently I was farming in droga, and that got nerfed. Hell I was farming in PoTactics, and guess what that was nerfed! Basically it is hard to get over 5k an hour nowadays, unless you do a one time thing like dragons. Nevertheless I have found the best camp probably right now is the Stampeding Piglet (http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=10838). Every 1-2 hours or so you will hear the message "you will hear the pounding of hooves" About 15 seconds after you will see some 20-some boars tearing out of the stables. The piglet is within those. Basically if you stand in the "safe corner" (this is the left corner with no mobs in it, if you were coming out of the stables, and if you were coming from zone-in it would be the top-left corner.) Anyway about 15 seconds after that you will see them coming back, but now they are somewhat separated. The piglet will spawn in the middle of the herd more often then not, but 90% of the time it will be out of the assist radius of the ones in front of it. Basically as long as it is a bit of a distance from the pigs in front of him, and a bit in front fo the pigs behind (occasionally he will spawn at the end of the herd, in which case all you have to do it root), you can root him. However if there are pigs behind you have about 2 seconds to FD before they come tearing after you, and considering there are usually about 6 or so per group, and they all quad for the 500's, if fd fails you can pretty much guarantee death. Anyway once all the boars have despawned (they immediately run towards the stables when you are fd, then despawn as will the piggy if he isn't aggroed on you), you can pick up your piggy. His sight radius (NOT aggro radius) is halariously small. IF you go much farther then the distance you can see his name in, he will no longer see you and regen at about 500 hp per tick, and if he isn't rooted he will run towards the stables (unless you are in the sight range of course, then he will come to beat on you). (note that is RUN, not walk, so you can't snare him and sit out of range). What does this mean? that means you have to stay very close to him, almost in meelee range, while he is rooted. If he breaks just run back a bit and re-root, but be careful since there is a wanderer that can come rather close. Be careful though, because if he catches you he also triples for about 500, and that is painful, even with forceshield. Anyway once he is separated it is standard root-rot procedure, I usually keep snare, blood of thule and FPoK on all the time (horror is too inefficient in my opinion but you can keep that on too if you want). Anyway just wait until hes dead, with me I have horrific equipment (most of my equipment pcs for around 1k, the only decent piece I have is my primary) but I usually end up with about 10% mana in the end (with SoS on of course). Anyway after that just sit in the corner and and wait until the next stampede (if you turn your sound/sound effects up to full you can hear the boars coming, so you can alt-tab over and do whatever). I strongly suggest getting virtue after every 2 stampedes or so, because without it you are going to die fast, forceshield or not (he resists root every now and then I get hit at least once per fight, even if the boars at the split don't get me first). Hes a pretty hard camp but is best if you want to do something while waiting, such as homework or something as you don't have to deal with PHs to kill every 15 mins. Anyway he is pretty hard but he drops some nice stuff (90% of the time he drops a SP, and always a semi-good weapon/armor). Most of the items he drops is worth 5k or more, and he most commonly drops the war marshall's bladed staff, which seels fora bout 5k on my server. The only non-decent equipment he drops is an ajudant's saber, worth about 1k but still pretty nice for paladins/sks if a guildy or an alt needs it. I have done this about 7 times and he has never not dropped a 1K+ item, and has only not dropped a SP once. Anyway this is a good camp to do if you don't mind watching tv for hours on end.

and yes I know I didn't use paragraphs shutup already about it  . At least I used the periods in the right places  .

Note my equipment IS crap (only 1.4k unbuffed hp at the moment, I know level 30 necros with better then that), and despite all the forums about this guy saying that you need a group to do this are full of s***. Of course this is assuming the fact you ARE a necro, and despite the equipment I have soloed where groups have trouble, out damaged 10+ people who try to kill steal, and in this case pulled a mob out of 20+ without a scratch. Who knows, maybe some day you can too

Yeah the piglet is cake if you can get root on him while he is running. Almost everytime I have killed him he has been at the back ot the stampede. Pretty simple root rot just make sure snare is on and no other mobs in the area will assist him cept the boars in stampede. Make about 5k an hour till his spawn skips a few times and you go for 3 hours no pop then you loose alot of the pp/hour. Also Jeb may want to try the CS dragon when he spawns on our server a 65 rng cle combo took him down with ease. With descent slow weps on pet and high resists which isnt tough for ya shouldn't be too terribly bad to pet tank him. He drops about 100k on our server in loot each time which isnt bad just a sucky respawn.

Perhaps he plowed through the a restless soul (http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=14226) camp to get Shell Inlaid Collar (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=26023) and Talisman of the Spiritseeker (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=26245).

I've been meaning to try that camp.
