what is the best gear 4 a starter?

i have a lvl. 2 nec. and i was wanderind what gear i should get.oh yeah, i am iksar so i need larg gear.

depending on if u want to twink ur char or not. i would suggest going for a Stein of Moggok (cheap item like 20pp for 10 int in secondary or primary). Also its too bad you missed the 5th anniversary i got a lot of stuff from rotting skellies then. i also like the Ceremonial Dagger of Hate another good starting item. my only reccomendation for ur starting equip is 1) stay away from reccomended level items as much as possible 2) get focus items lots of them 3) save money where u can and check prices over days. good luck!

If you are totally new to EQ I would recommend against twinking, but if you must...

HP gear is best, followed by Focus Effects IMHO (this evens out later I think)

When I started Haettan I equipped him with the following:

Velium Fire Wedding Ring x2
Green Silken Drape
Black Alloy Medallion
Chipped Bone Bracelet
20 Bone Chips

I had it all on various characters, but depending on your server you could get these items for 1000-1500 plat.

edit: btw... at level 40 I'm still using all the above items except 1 of the Rings. I swapped it out for a Moonstone Ring.

sorry,ment thanks, but all the good wepons are far to expencive and i accidenaly loaded all of my plat and gold into spells for now and spells for later.

I would say Int and mana equipment would be best .... you can find decent priced INT stuff for almost all slots. As for spending money on spells for now and later levels thats probably the best buy for you anyhow. As you rise in level you will fight (melee) less and less. Buying a "good" weapon would not be a benefit to you.

once u get gather shadows u cna try hanging around zones where lore items drop. i used invis vs undead to get the lower guk illusion mask earned me 500pp :P

can take long but heck its a lot of money to make of this tactic if u know where to good spots are.
