Necro pet Vs. Beastlord pet...

BL vs. Necro pet of same levels?

Just curious, as BL pets seem pretty good.

This was discussed some time ago on beastlord boards as well.

From several parses and duels ect it came up that our pet is slightly better then a beastlords in terms of damage. 1 vs 1 at higher lvls ( 49+ ) ours will win ever time due to their life taping proc which saves them vs the beastlords damage proc more often then not. ( Keep in mind it depends on how much buffing, either class does to their pet )

So overall our pets are better but it is not a great margin by which they are better.

**edit** I might add you can find these parses ect on EQBeastlords.com as that is the most commonly used beastlord site. I suggest you do a search for it, namely by " necro pets " for the title to find what your looking for.

It comes down to equipping the pets. You can hand a Necro pet a GOOD weapon and he will be ginzu... BL pet won't. Both benefit from armor.

BL can buff his better than we can buff ours. So there again an advantage can be had.

Neither is clearly superior. The top end BL pet is incredible, but given the right equipment our will probably out do him. In a pet duel though you have to get the right kind of pet. A backstabbing Rogue pet is not what you want for example.

both naked, it should be a 50/50 toss up. You'd have to do serveral hundred runs to really evaluate them to see if either has a margin of success better than the other.

BST Pet = Higher DMG Proc
NEC Pet = Lifetap DMG / Heal Proc

But there is one thing that makes NEC pet's eat a BST of same level's pet: Beastlord Warders cannot use equipables.

Want a almost guaranteed win? Give your pet a set of Gnoll Hide Lariat's (http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2665). Then your pet would not only proc his Lifetap, but he will also proc (from the whips) Stun. Stunning the other pet == the win every time.
