Bone Chips

OK, I just got level 7 and I am having a hard time keeping bone chips. My pet is a gimp still and dies too often since I haven't hit 8 for the new pet spell. I hearde there is a merchant in PoK where I can buy bone chips. Is this true? if so, who and where? If not I'll just log my main on and thump the skelly camp in SK for an hour or so for about 348564395 bone chips.

There is no vendor for bone chips. However, if you find another necro with Flesh to Bone AA, there is a meat vendor somewhere in thurgdain, that can supply you with essentially the same thing.

At level 7 there are many skelles that you can hunt for your bonechips... instead of loggin on main and wasting time when you could be getting exp. Also, if i remember correctly, you are a much better tank than your lvl 4 pet spell at level 7 so maybe you should try turning his taunt off and tanking... i dunno

Necro at 7 needs to fight and let his pet act like a secondary DOT.

As for bones. North Ro and Steamfront are great places to pick up bones. In steamfront there is a MOB trap. Decaying Skellies get trapped on the mountains just behind the Windmills. Go to windmils and go to top of hill and just work teh top and you will get several chips there.


Then head to the Dragon Skeleton. There are numerous skellies there that will give you XP. (now this is assuming you are a Gnome. A DE or Iskar will be KOS there and dies quickly). Even the Steamfront newbie area is a good place to pick up bones. I find that I only use 1 to 2 pets per logon sessions so if you are burning them fater than that you are wasting them. If tehy are below 10% then walk up and start meleeing. I mean the mob is going to finish Jobn off in another whack or two and be on you anyway, so SAVE YOUR PET and take a hit.


Also. PETS HEAL FASTER SITTING DOWN. If you are medding and he is not 100% and still standing you are wasting him. Sit him down.

An interesting thing I foudn was that pets seem to hit beeter with rusty scythes than any other rusty weapon. Not sure if it was imagination, or not, but I try to make sure I saved scythes for pet weapons.

In the Dark Elf area I usually saw a BUNCH of skeletons near the POK book.

Anjol, what race are you and what server are you on? cause if you were on mine I would give you a few stacks..

any way if you are a DE you should be killing the skellies over by the Lava ent... lots of skellies there.. also you can go to everfrost and stay near the PoK book lots of skellies there. or even qeynos/qeynos hills area lots of skellies there...

Honestly at lower levels go to PoK and spend 20pp on 5+ stacks...the alternative is to head to the Cabilis book and head into the field of bones and attack every skeleton you can.

The secret to all bone chip reserves is the Dread Lands, when you finally become 47+ head to the dread lands by either the port in Nexus (the portal near the bazaar) or have a druid port, do not go via FV stone. Run south till you come to a group of pyramids, find the large pyramid in the center and small on you can sit on. In side the large pyramid are Plaguebone thieves. The spawn regularly. Here you will fear kit each bone thief they drop okay loot and bone chips bone chips bone chips. You will level from 47+ to 51 or 52....You will have so many bone chips that you will have to destroy or sell some.

NOTE: there is an iksar vendor there that I believe sells food, water and will buy the fine steel and other junk drops for you. Its camped a lot by necros and is the best. The Plaguebone Thieves are fast

2 of the best places ive found in all my years of playing are:

1. Paineel newbie area...massive amounts of decaying skellies there.

2. Kurns Tower...great for exp and bonechips...

Youre a little young to head to kurns tower, but once you hit like 8, go there. Fastest exp there is in a group, but if you cant find a group solo. If you DO find a group however, just let them know you want the chips and they should be cool with that. Got a handmade backpack soloing there from 8-24(twinked out) full of chips, still using those chips to this day.

Plaguebones were mentioned as the best, ive been leveling there for quite some time now and the exp is great, and the chips arent bad but Kurns/paineel is far better IMO. If I'm ever out of bonechips, I'll just run all the way through the upper part of Kurns Tower with my pet parked at entrance, train them all to my pet and let my pet kill them off one by one. You can get a few stacks in one pass with this method if you do it right. Also may get a Def up or two.

Best zone i've ever found is tower of frozen shadow in iceclead ocean.

First floor mobs to the right are skellies and they always drop 2-3 bone chips and 4-5 plat and swords that sell for 5-7 plat around mid twenties

Thanx for all the info. I figured out the tanking part since my pet was a wuss and died quick as its still the 1st level spell. I hit level 8 and got a good pet now so I shouldnt be having THAT problem anymore. My problem was findgin a spot where the skellies dropped the chips. the gfay and freeport skellies dont drop squat. And I am a DE so SF is outta the question really. I will try Kurns and as I level the other places as well. Thanks again for the info. Too used to being a melee to know the necro places.
