Words-Common or Rare?

Okay, I'm trying to plan for the future with my necro (now level 28) by gathering words that I'll need later. I'm always finding them on various venders in different areas. My question is, which words are rare, and which ones are common? Please share your opinions on this. That way, I can decide if I should go ahead and buy certain words when I find them because they may not be easy to find later, or if I can buy them some other time because they are common and I can find them later. Thank you.

Not sure I can say which are rare or not, but I tend to buy whatever I can get my little hands on. I've always found lots of Words of Duress, Cazic-Thule, for example, but not many like Cloudburst or Incorporeal.

You can never have too many words, in my book - buy all you can, as you are able. I bank 'em in Deluxe Toolboxes in the bank.

If you find words of Detachment hold onto them and sell them in the bazaar. They make lvl 24 pet spell. They are rare for to find by the time a necro is lvl 24. I sold (2) Words of Detachment for 500pp each in the bazaar. I was being nice. When my necro was lvl 24 I bought a Words of Detachment for 1Kpp. I am so glad that combine didn't fail that time..hehe...expensive fail.

Detachment is the rarest word that I have come across on 2 servers. I managed to get one to drop last night in LDoN adv. The group I was with thought that I had lost it when I asking very politely. From what I seen alot of sites state, they are suppose to drop commonly in Castle Mistmoore but I could really tell you. Best place to try for words would the bazaar or Rathe Mountain's gyspies.

That is inteeresting. Words Of Allure was teh hard one for me. It was a nightmare getting the 24 pet spell. ANYTHING used for level 50 and above is INCREDIBLY rare. You find those on a vendor GRAB EM. I will look in my inventory. There are some words I ahve stacked like kindlign wood and others that I use up as soon as I get them. Cazic Thule is common, but also used for 5 spells so you will use them all up.

Fpr me these words have been very commong drops in zones that are level appropriate. I have a stack of these:

Odus - level 49
Paracitism - 29
Requisition - 49


I don't think I have EVER seen Crippling Force - 49

Pyche is fairly common. Brunishing is fairly rare (these are used to make Dead Man Floating).

RAREST = Words of Torment, and Agony

Torment is used for Funeral Pyre and agony is used for Group DMF

words of Abrogation make a good Robe made by DE GM tailors. the robe sells for 5K on Druzzil Ro. I used to sell these words for 9K but now that the robe price has dropped I would sell them for less.

as for the rest.. I was 60+ before LOY so I bought my spells. I NEVER bought my 59 pet. BUT I suggest buying Demilich if you get a mount before lvl 61. cause your 60 lich won't stack with a mount.

that is all I can think of for now.

i found on plagebone theifs in lost continent of dreadlands

One words of expedition is extremely rare. It is used for Level 55 pet buff spell Augmentation of Death. It supposedly drops in Western Wastes. If anyone on KB runs into one of these I will compensate handsomely for them. 8k for that damn spell on my server.

High Pass/High Keep
Thurg
Melee Guild Merchants

Since Sony nerfed vendor pharming, it might be tougher to find words now.

Can't say I can remember exactly which ones are rare, always seemed to be the ones I currently needed.

What I found out while journeying through the some what bumpy (was for me) time period of "Research". Was that the rarest word, was always the last one I needed for that particular spell. Its called "Murphy's" law I believe. <_<

Take heart though, ;) you will eventually find the words you require. Not to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but it gets harder to find words for spells over lvl 50

I really enjoy this site as it gives me some good ideas. Now the words I can never seem to find are words of awareness. Where in heck do they drop and off what lvl mobs I Merchant hunt all the time and can find most words but not these.

I've started collecting information on about where words drop, and recording them. Doing a little manual on Necro research. So it will be an bit of an on going process. I've still yet to figure out how to post my file online for others, if I can't I'll ask my guild leader to post it on our web page and send a link for everyone.

This is what I found out about words when I first started looking for them. first is that the zone you are in will drop words for those spells of that lvl. That there was no for sure place to go get them. Only random drops. So they have been a pain to find. Words that are use for only one spell seem to be more rare than those that are used for more than one and are found in several zones if for more than one spell lvl.

So here's what I'll so, with my list of words for necro's I'll add a column of known places these words have dropped. That doesn't mean we'll know all of them or that when you go there you won't have to farm them for a while, all we'll know is at sometime, someone found those words in that zone. It also may be creature related, but there have been no comments on that yet either.

So post what you know here and I'll add it to the document.

While I will admit to checking the bazaar for Words, I only do this if I am at the lvl needing a particular spell and have yet to collect it. I also do the whole library thing with the toolboxes, and amaze my friends who don't play Words classes, or, do but just resort to always buying them. One little tip, though... go shopping... I probably shouldn't say this, as those of you who don't do it yet will probably start making it more difficult for myself, LoL. Every once in a while, when the servers haven't been reset in a while... I take my money and Trader/CHA gear, and I go to every merchant I can that I'm not KOS to. There are plenty of people who will sell Words to NPC merchants without even knowing what they're doing (although this can suck for some main looters who will delete them to keep space for more expensive items without asking anyone if they need it first, errrgh). I have found many a rare Words in this way. Now, being KOS to a lot of places makes it difficult, but this is why I'm working on my faction as much as possible. I found most of my rare words in a place where most people don't take the time to change faction and buy stuff... ShadowHaven (ouch, giving that away hurt, LoL). After changing my faction to buy stuff in ShadowHaven (after receiving a false tip that black ceremonial coffins were sold there), I found a lot of rare Words there. Mostly under lvl 50 Words, but I even came across some for above 50.

This is only possible, however, because people have never played a Words character, or are sooo busy leveling up fast and not even noticing when they pick up something important. Side Note: to all you main looters out there, if you loot an item that is desperately needed by a member of the group, even something as insignificant as Words of... don't say, "Well, either buy it from me so the group can share in the profit, or I'm just gonna sell it so the group can share the profit..." errgh, nothing erks me more than an ignorant ML who doesn't realize that people go on adventures and kill mobs NOT JUST FOR XP AND LOOT, we can only get some of our stuff from drops... anyway, standing off my soap box now, LoL.

I also hunt for words all over, I have even created 4 other mules just so I could hunt for words in places where my DE is KOS. /agree with you warlok, it's a good idea to check vendors that are near melee class guilds and such..

The few times I've shopped for words in the Bazaar it pissed me off.. why do people charge so much?? I can understand slightly overcharging for a rare word.. I had 3 extra Words of Allure that I sold in Bazaar for 50pp each, the one other person selling them was charging 500pp!!!!!!! That's not even for a spell, it's for a word that could go POOF! and you have nothing.. Ok now I'm off my soap box.. hehe..

Just suggestion, rather than sell words especially "Alure" (one of the ones needed for our lvl 24 pet) combine them, and sell the spells. That would help twofold. (1) With your research. (2) Help out our younger Necro's who need the lvl. 24 pet spell.

I found by doing that, I was kinda helping the young necro community as it were. ;)

Anyway just a thought. ;)

ahh, but if everyone just sold the Words at a fair price, you would be helping out newbies by allowing them to afford the Word, work on and get their research up, and allowing them to have the spell, LoL... But I understand, some people out there just HAVE to sell Words for outrageous prices, cause they really want the highest paying Drogmor (LoL, j/k, I don't know why people want 10s and 10s of thousands of plat, other than to buy stuff at the bazaar that is outrageously prices, LoL). Honestly, though, on the prices, okay, if something is 10k plat, it better be just as good or better than an epic quest type item, otherwise, it's just disappointing, LoL.

Personally I don't shop for words. I have had pretty good luck farming them off mobs. When it comes time to think about buying the Next set of spells, I'll admit I am disappointed at the prices in Bazaar. There are some decent folk out there tho'. Just the other day I bought DMF (lv 44) in Bazaar for 9pp. When I do go to the bazaar to sell the spells I have researched, I make it easy for our fellow necro's and don't charge outrageous prices. I've even done free combines for Necros that just haven't got their research skill quite high enough. I like to think us Necro's as a big family. It's hard to get these words, spells, or skill sometimes. For those of you that are making our lives easier, Thank you. Let's keep up the good work. :D
