Burned Out Lightstones

The topic title and description pretty much say it all. I have looked and looked and looked, and looked some more, but I can't find a single one. Does anyone know where to get these? Aside from killing wisps for hours and hours (I already know about that way). Are there any particular areas that have high concentrations of wisps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can find a lot of wisps in West Commons mainly between the druid rings and guard toll booth. I killed a lot of them at 12 and such, and found a lot of BOL's.

Allakhazam's says that BOL's only drop from wisps in many zones, unrest, nektulos, EC, WC, etc.

I got BoLs all the time hunting toll booth guards in WC, was trying to get greater lightstones of course.

Why would you want BoLs?

Well, I wanted the BOL's for the research quest, but dang... may have to skip it.

EC. spend half an hour there and you will get many bol's.

The best place to get Lightstones (regular, Greater and Burned Out) is on Kerra Isle--also known as Wisp Island. Take the boat from Qeynos like your going to Erudin, but get off on the island before you reach Erudin. You will recognise the island because it is inhabited by Kerrans and there is a wrecked Pirate ship out front. TONS of wisps inhabit this island. There is simply no better place to farm lightstones.

You will find a whole lot of Burned-Out Lightstones on Wisp Island. Just don't kill the Kerra Isle beetles or you have any Kerra that sees you doing it after you butt then you get on the ship.

Regarding the research quest and the BoLs, it's really not worth it to do the quest unless you just REALLY like to do quests and such.

Research can be raised at a trainer with regular training points, it cost me about 3k to go from 150 to 200. It's a lot less painless and maybe more expensive but certainly less frustrating ;)

Thanks for all the advice. I went to EC and WC and the wisps were all over the place. I hunted for about 20 minutes (around 6 wisps killed) and got 5 burned out lightstones and one greater lightstone. So it's not as bad as I thought.

I plan on using my training points to increase my research skill but not until later. As long as I don't hit any major brick walls in the research quest, I'll continue doing it, because I like doing quests. :D
