I am master at Gnome, Common, and Vah SHir.. VAHSHIR??? Yeah Cat tounge. I have pretty good at about 10 other languages and have skill in about 23 now.

The art of spamming a person to teach them is really pretty easy. I am not sure if there is ANY use to the skill. I am going to try to talk to a Dragon in Dragon some day just to see how she responds to her own language.

I guess you can use the "off" language like Elder Dragon to talk privately to someone else. B)

Anyway, if you want here is the basic function for Spamming:

Set up hotkey.
/set language 10 (or is it jsut /language 10) (this list is from you window settings)
Put some text here like "Hi this is my spam"
/oause 2
put more text here
/set langauge 1 Returns you to common so you do not have issues when talking.

Now you can teach a person to 1 tick above your skill. So it is best to teach someone your mastered languages first. Then move on to the funky ones.

WARNING: You BASIC window must be set to /group as this must be done in group and must be done in you first chat window. Yo may have that window defaulted to /say.

Be careful that people you are spamming are ok with it. Some think it is cool watching their language ticker go up. Some people get REAL pissy with the spam. If doing when medding there should not be an issue.

Up to you if you see any value. I think it is cool to be able to talk to a VahShir in his own tongue and everyone else is scratching their heads.

only thing in game i noticed that knowing languages is used for is that certain game lore texts are in specific languages and you can read them unless you know the language...

Languages are use to find out spell research, and for when new expasions to come out to read the books that have that spell research information. Cant read it if you don't know the language. The list I know of to learn for necro research is Dragon, Elder Dragon, Erudian, Old Erudian, And the Teir'Dal (DE), may be an old one too. I usually learn them incase the story line changes, but what's listed above is what I know for now.

I've learned a few extra languages like Faerie, Halfing, Troll, Ogre, etc.. It is a good way to fill the time while medding or waiting for a spawn.. /agree with Dycacian.
