The Necromancer is the greatest class in the game. Lifetaps are the most powerful type of spells in the game because not only are you damaging your oponent but are healing yourself or your pet at the same time. I have a 65 Rogue too, but while he can sustain some awesome dmg, he can't even come close to the self sufficiency that the Necro has while outputting that dmg. On the whole my 65 Rogue HAS to have a healer and slower, and most of the time a tank as well in order to fullfill his class mission of dmg king of the melee.

Necro's on the other hand have great lifetap / reverse lifetaps, Better mana generation than a chanter with the best mana buffs, Nasty pets, Very nasty DoT's, Feign Death, Summon Corpse, 93% Ressurection, Snares, Roots, Fear, etc.. etc. Which makes us able to solo things that most classes would not even come close to being able to. We can do well in groups or solo.. makes no difference to us. 3 Cheers for this class. I am having a blast playing him. Wizards are sooo boring in comparison.

Yeah I agree with that last statement about Wizards. Had a Wizard up to 14 and just couldn't kill anything without dying everytime I zoned in, plus I could only kill like 1-2 things and then go oom, with my necro at that level I could get 3-4. Wizards die too easy since they have no pets to have their backs for gating and such, and can only rely on Root/Gate, while we have pets, Gate, Feign Death, etc.

I had a wizard too up to level 61 and then sold him because he was BORING! Nuke, sit, nuke, sit, nuke, sit, etc... Can't buff others really, nothing to do but nuke, and sit. Oh.. he was powerful no doubt.. Wizard AoE power is second to none in the game. I used to kill 50+ mobs in acrillia caverns at one time (every 12 minutes). And that was the ONLY fun I had with my wizard.

Necro.. is allot more skill involved in healing your pet, while keeping yourself alive, and saving your groups ass in some cases.

There are alot of guys at work that play EQ, and I am the only necro there. I have to say, being a necro is alotta fun...i am only lvl 35, but am told of legends of Necro pets taking on mobs of ridiculous strength alone. I say four cheers for Necros!!
