As a necro I laugh at people when they start whining about "loosing crack". Hey man, suck it up.. Crack is a bad adiction that allows other casters to outperform their true capabilities.
I suck up life for my mana and I get in more trouble while THEY meditate than at any other time. These other casters BLAST BLAST BLAST away and spew off a whole mana bar then expect yuo to sit down idly while they med up and you watch your life slip away.
BAD BAD BAD Casters. They get into bad habbits or overcasting with their crack addictions and then they get groups killed when crack goes away.
Crack Kills.

Totally agree. I've grouped with Wizards, Clerics, Shaman, etc. and once they waste their mana on heals, DDs, buffs, etc. they expect that everyone else can take care of the mob. While the warrior of the group is about to die, and he is the only melee (hopefully not), and the healers are OOM, uh oh, Necro you have the pet, you be tank...Nope!

I agree crack is addictive.. and yes it kills
but Emzeon if you are grouping with a shaman who is sitting on thier butt whining about being oom.. be afraid, be very afraid. I have a shaman alt and there is no reason a shaman should be oom. that lazy bastidge better be canni dancing his butt off... hell I canni while tanking mobs.. lol... (not recomended for the feint at heart)

Yeah, I rarely grouped, but when I did it amazed me at how "newbish" these people were. They would just waste their mana when their group depended on it. However, I don't know if they were Shaman, I just threw that in as it was the only healing class other than cleric I could think of  , although there could have been.

I do agree we have become products of the EQ env. I play a Cleric as one of my alts, and didn't have much stuff or plat, I would have groups port me to nexus to get a c3 for the group because they wanted to chain pull, and they DON"T like to let the cleric heal, they like to tell you how! I quit playing my cleric, cleric still sits at lvl 41. Now if my necro is playing a healer in the group I prefer to do it with a c3, but I'm lvl 47 now, but I don't whine when it goes away, I put my life taps in, and rip my skin off and play some more. I think a good player can learn how to use both, and not over spend his mana for either the group or kill himself, but we all know there are necros and close calls that we try and do this all the time to ourselves with our spells in the name of mana.
General I establish a routine with my mana to make it last, to either handle chain pulling or a dungeon crawl, and if I get low, I do less each mob and med a little more. I always try and keep a reserver for add so I can off tank or save an over zelous caster from his own demise. I find also that managing agro is just as important as managing mana.
So is crack bad? I guess it is if its the only way you think you can play.
