The lowest priced Horse/Drogmar is around 10,000 platinum, so you have long way ahead of you before you get one of them. I would suggest however not buying a horse/drogmar until you are fully equipped (good enough for level, etc.) and are able to reimburse yourself, as in if you spend the 10k, then you can get it back fairly quickly. Thats just my opinion.

gear is first priority as are your spells... then horse/drog

This is very true. My spells were my first priority, then getting a dragmor. Infact I sold a very nice item to get my dragmor, now I wish I hadn't. So don't worry about getting a horse/dragmor, maybe think again when you have a 40+ with good gear.

I've found that the only drogmor or horse that is REALLY worth having is the 30k+ horses/drogmors... the rest are a pain in the ass when your fear is resisted and you have to move to re-cast it

I got the lowest pp cost drogmor, even with char buffs and all my char gear on it still came to about 9k pp.

However, I know he cant run fast, but being able to have lich on, be on drogmoor during outside raids and groups and such is very nice for manna regen.

It took me awhile but if anything went wrong or my fear was resisted I had to learn very quick on how to click him off and run around until I could either cast fear again or at least darkness and then send in pet to start taking taunt to get mob off me to get sitation under control.

The price I paied was worth it, because during raids its nice to be able to sit, med as if you were sitting and not have to worry about sit aggro..and same goes if during a raid or group you have to memm a spell needed for group or raid and not have to worry about sitting aggro.

Yes, spells are for sure your first priority. :-)

I went with the drogmor because there is no head in the way of my view like there is on the horse. :-)

Other than looking cool what is the point of having a mount? if its for mana get a chanter's mind buff for apporite lvl or lich (you are a necro right?) and if its for speed get Jboot's alot cheaper in the long run. But thats just my opinion.

It lets you regen mana as if you were sitting while standing...

I think they should be sitting hp regen as well, since you technically are sitting. this is the only negative thing about mounts for necro/shaman

Even with Mana regen spell effects, sitting mana regen is noticeably faster than standing. Not having to worry about sitting aggro is a big plus. Even if you think you can get by without having to sit all the time, you may need to change spells in the middle of a group or raid. I know i do, I usually have one slot that i toggle for pet haste and lich refreshing in any situation, and one that I toggle for degeneration and Succession of shadows while grouped and not on crowd control duty. I usually don't keep twitch up, but if the cleric calls LoM in the middle of a multiple pull, I'll get it up and ready, and drawing an add becuase you sat down isn't good for anyone in that situation.

Some people don't mind getting whacked once or twice, because when they stand up the aggro usually goes back to the tank if it's a single pull. If it's a multiple pull, you could be toast however. Plus I don't like getting whacked because I like to use manaskin and in the planes, two hits is enough to knock it off and thensome. Yeah I can just tap my hitpoints back, but there goes 12pp down the drain for a peridot.

I bought the 30K horse the other day.

Really glad I did, only thing I really had a problem with is how slow they start moving.

I too had a problem with getting used to the slow start when aggro kiting. Your timing will soon sort this out. Also you need to ensure you have slowed to a stop before casting.

My Drog was the best invstment I ever made. mana regen with Demi Lich is very noticeably faster when sitting. My only beef is that I finally got the cool looking Arch Lich at 60 and couldn't use it whilst mounted :(

On a note about demi lich on a horse vs, arch lich:

Most illusions bust out being on horse back with the illusion. Spectre illusion is no different. We are just fortunate enough that skele illusion will.

I find that demi lich in an outdoor zone WITH a horse, makes my mana regen faster than with arch lich and having to sit. Why? because

1) I always have to stand up on each pull or risk getting sitting agro (and in the planes that can really suck being seated and getting hit for max)

2) Just moving to get out of the way of the tank as they bash the mob around causes me to stand allot with Arch Lich which leads to lower mana regen rates.

So all in all, if I CAN use my horse in an outside zone, I do with with Demi lich and don't even use arch lich. I use arch lich in all indoor zones.

Saryn's Seduction I think is skele illusion so look on the bright side to the future of liching once you hit 64.. :-) Besides, demi and arch lich are not really very different in conversion ratios from each other, while Saryn's is a definite upgrade.

Can always do the ignite bones trick as well, but then again, while you're mounted, you get standing hp regen, which can go down pretty fast with Arch Lich and you already took 500 damage from the Ignite bones if you go that route (even with Ikky regen 3), so you'd better tap fast and often, or just use Demi he he he
