View Full Version : 55 and need a place to kill

I'm level 55 and need a place to kill. I've read all the guides and lists on this site. Now I havn't tried all the places that have been mentioned but i've done quite a large percentage of them.
I tried PoN for about 12 percent or so and ended up getting too close to the cliff and aggroing hobgoblins while trying to avoid getting a double pull. A bard has screwed up the spawns and when I went for the one that had popped in the back. I cascading it( Yeah, yeah don't tell me to use dooming cause I'm not gonna. I've gotten use the the long cast time on cascading and don't mind it. I don't get very many resists even on the ravens.) then i turned back around to see that one of the front ones had spawned so I ran along the edge of the cliff to avoid aggro and bang. Had two hobgoblins and a raven on me. Ended up losing all the exp I got there.
I have also tried veksar. Now while I loved the atmosphere and look of it, i couldn't really find a suitable camp. There were supposed to be undead somewhere but I sure as heck couldn't find them. I did find a decent fear kite path for the goblins near the entrance. There was roamer that kept giving me problems. I showed him a thing or two tho when I got him alone  .
I have tried quite a few of the other places listed but no experiences worth mentioning. I prefer an easier .5 percent exp mob than a harder 1 percent mob so I'd like a place that the mobs are easier, even if they give less exp. I was wondering if you guys could give any recomendations. I prefer a place with easier mobs. The exp doesn't have to be uber like PoN or PoD but decent exp would be nice. If you know of a place could you elaborate on the details. Ie: What to kill there, where to set up shop etc.

i dont know what you done wrong in PoN, but normaly its a decent camp. nearly no danger in aggro and fear kiting. at 55 it gives no better place to lvl. the ravens can be feared and that is the big advantage.
just do it right the guide it says. but one thing... if ya come to the camp and is not full spawned wait for a full respawn. in this time aggro kite some trees.
and please listen to the comunity and use dooming i was like ya said damn i want dmg from the darkness line. but the time and mana it costs make this spell a bad choice. just get the old 29 spell up... u will love it... with spell haste the spell rocks. the only thing to cast darkness is for the snare component not for the damage, yar other dots do enough dmg...
and if ya lazy like me and forget to resnare then yar faster dead with Cascading Darknes then with dooming... or if Cascading Darkness get a lot resisted...
Just try and enjoy the raven camp... u will never see such fast xp aslong as dont have enjoyed a Kiting Group ind PoV with a Necromancer as Mainpuller :D :D

Depending on how far into 55 you are, you might want to zone-in to Plane of Valor and see if you can join the kiting group at the OC (outside caves) camp. Be wary of the Razorfiends and Lumbering Beasts, though - they hit in the 500-800 range and will kill you quickly if you catch aggro.
I know people say PoN is the shiznit for solo XP at 55, but I always seemed to have problems with resists and adds when soloing there. I had a little better luck doing rats and tsetse flies in Plane of Disease.
Cascading Darkness sucks - because of the long cast timer. If you get a resist trying to establish initial snare on a mob, you likely are going to have to FD and get some distance on the mob before trying to re-darkness. Cascading Darkness, even with spell haste and extended range, that the mob has to be "just barely" in range to cast to cover the spell casting time. SoE needs to "fix" darkness and make it all have similar cast times to Dooming/Embracing Darkness.

You can aggro kite at the forrest in Plane of Mishchief. Depending on what your research skills are at you can also make some pretty good cash there with the words that drop. Everything here should con dark blue to yellow for you at your level.

I was in PoM at 55. The exp wasn't really exciting but really I went there for the research components, I'm praying that words of awareness will drop if at all possible for Demi-Lich.
Any how, I would say these have as many HPs as your common PoN mob, and the exp is very similar. When you zone in however you will probably find yourself all alone, and there is a huge kiting area right there with plenty of easy single pulled mobs.
Mostly everything was blue, there was an occasional yellow. I got about 3.5% AA in a kill, I will goto PoN now with AA on to compare the two zones.
In 90 minutes there I got like 17% real exp, 40pp, and a few words. Mobs took short of 3 snare durations to kill, I was using Ignite Blood x 2, Plague, Splurt x 2, Dooming x 3, BoD x 1 or 2 + Augment Death Pet (lv39 haste with no mage gear)... so they do have some Hps to them, if you med-aggro-kite you can avoid a lot of downtime. Sure it's not exciting experience or loot, but it will be worth it if words of awareness drop.
Oh and I scouted out much of the zone looking for a spot indoors, I couldn't find any rooms with sufficient kiting space and all the mobs were even to yellow.
It's kinda a fun little zone, to get to it just zone into GD, and goto the very very bottem of the river and click the mini -castle. To zone out there is a tree I believe neg1000, neg360 that you can click which will drop you in Cobalt Scar in the middle of the ocean. Also, if you want to go inside the castle for some reason, there is an Invisible ramp that will take you up onto the outer wall, thus allowing entry; I can't tell you exactly where it is but its to the right of the of the visible ramp (which is also fake) when you zone in.
Have fun

Lol wierd. I just read bout this zone about an hour ago and was planning on checking it out in the morning. The mobs have more hp than PoN ravens from what i've heard but give slightly better exp and there shouldn't be any fighting over camps. I've read the zone is usually completely empty. I had PoD to myself earlier today. Was kinda funny to be in a plane with no one else around. I'm gonna take my 50 cleric friend with me to keep pet from death. Maybe use the 49 pet to tank while he keeps it buffed and healed and I dot the thing to death. If not I can just aggro kite the thing. I have a 75k drog which is a bit faster than sow speed (Don't tell me it's equal because I outrun sow speed players all the time.) which is good for agro kiting. I did read up on some outdated info tho B) www.planeofmischief.com. Written by a triton member on Povar (Go povar).

PoD was really easy for me. I kited the rats around the entrance. Someone told me to fear them by the water at the entrance off the hill thing /shrug. Told me to snare dot sick pet fear. I never tried it because I went back to PoN till 58 and then i hit the gargs. Hope this helps

I don't think your cleric will be able to keep your lvl 49 pet alive against PoM entrance mobs, they hit extremely hard.
I tried agro kiting at 57 but they were just too resistant to snare. The undead camp in Natimbi is a great place for agro kiting at your level.

If you have time some info on that would be nice. Where the camp spot is, what mobs i'm looking for etc.

Did you try SD? I absolutely loved it mid-50s, was crushed when I could no longer xp there and had to move on. On the plateau, I did the reavers/revenants, either fear or agro kiting depending on how I felt that day. Nearly all solo pull, and soloing I never cleared the whole camp of them so there was no down time. Very few resists. These mobs actually have very low hp for their level if you look them up. The drops there aren't too bad, better than any of the planes at least.
I never liked PoN, but I did do yard trash occasionally in PoM - the mobs resist a bit though so you have to be prepared to snare and snare and snare again.

Undead camp in Natimbi:
- Part of the Gates of Discord expansion
- Zone into Nedaria's Landing using the Magus in the LDoN camps.
- Use the Magus in Nedaria to get to Natimbi
Once in Natimbi, load up Sense the Dead and follow it to the camp. Nothing will agro on the way and none of them will assist when you are fighting the undead. You will come to a ruined area with mobs called "a restless soul". They are single pullable, snareable, and immune to fear. Agro kite with the rogue pet in the open area in front.
Once in a while a named will spawn there that you can't snare or root and i'm told now summons. Avoid her obviously.
Aequitas, there were some suggestions about PoM. This is a good place for exp and aggro kiting at your level, ( if you like aggro kiting ) but have quick root ready cause if snare is resisted you better be able to get out of the way in a hurry.
I don't know if anyone answered your question about veksar or not, but when you zone in and come down the steps to the courtyard, use regular invis and run to the left side of the court yard, back right corner. There is a long back alley that dead-ends and nothing spawns or roams here. Park your pet back there, go back out and snare a goblin. Dot him as he comes your way, when he's almost all the way back, cast fear and send pet. That alley is plenty long for fear kiting goblins.
BTW - when you come back out of the alley, that ramp you are standing under...thats the entrance to take you further into the zone and just about everything beyond that point, with a few exceptions, is undead.

Amen to that :) Those trash mobs in PoM easily waste you if you don't have a temp or virtue and they catch you for a round or two.

The yard trash in PoM has been pretty nice so far. Only two deaths ( Loaded up my friends cleric and rezzed myself ). The aa exp is great and I can get 1 percent a kill norm exp most the time even if I have the cleric in group. They have a bit more hp than the PoN ravens and hit like a mother but once I get em snared if I watch my timer then they are pretty easy. Takes about 30 percent mana or so to kill them ( More with alot of resists obviously). I'm liking it so far. Gonna try natimbi tonight tho.

Ok the Undead camp is the only thing in Natimbi that might be worth anything, unfortunetly it was camped when I was there so I tried a few others mobs.
Turtles: Warp like it's their job, probably because they are so freaking huge? And the Fierce are practically unsnareable I hear.
Noc Darklurch: Sure you could kill them, but here they are generally pretty close tother with no kiting room nearby and... they run incredibly fast.
Mastruq Spiritbrute: Have some sort of ranged DD, dots, I never saw the "begins to cast a spell message" nor did I see them stop running when in 3rd person view.. but they do something to you at a range.
Hynid Fleshrippers and Shore Stonemites are really low, I didn't see my exp move after killing a few of them.
I might try it out again if I get the undead camp, but so far I am very unimpressed, this expansion has been out since March? Feb? and still turtles warping on me (I don't give a shit about dx9 or any other bullshit, it should be fixed by now this is ridiculous), and appears to be 1 possible camp here for necromancers.
