Another Idiot

Howdy guys,

Other day 3 of us were messing around in Nadox. Other side from gunthak zone. 49 necro, 47 wizzy, and 56 druid. You know, just wasting these mobs. So buddy goes to pick up my wizzy friend. Right when they arrive so does this venerable druid. Dude pulls the named and ends up getting the kill. My buddy and I had been camping this area for about an hour. SO, I said "what an arse" This guy goes crazy after I say this. Starts cussing up a storm wanting to duel me, the whole time his partner that came with him, was apologizing for his behavior.

To make a short story long, is there any chance in hell to beat a venerable druid at 49 in a duel? I so wanted to but didnt want to give him the satisfaction. Just told him to stop acting 12 and look around the area before pulling. Thoughts? Has something similar happend to any of you. How do you handle this situation? Any suggestions? I've encounter two individuals like this in my ~3 years of playing.

Just keep on playing, there is no way a druid can outdamage a necro to get the kill, especially if you throw in a few FDs to keep the mob bashing the druid.

If he is stupid enuff and tries to train you -> FD and watch the mobs kick his butt instead. Normaly forces him to zone and never to return.

I heard ppl used to deal with such situtation by casting sacrifice on the idiot. Often they mistook the message popup as a duel-challenge and just clicked OK without reading the message. -> insta kill and a nice shiny EE. B)

Never tried it myself but I heard they tuned it so you no longer can sac ppl if they are not in your group. :(


I still wonder why the druid class attracts so many idiots.
Is there a relation between that class and mental disabilities ?

Don't worry the necro class has puh-len-tee of complete asscakes among it's ranks. Every class does, but it generally only comes into play with soloing classes.

If he was nuking/dot'ing mob dont think you could out dmg him at your lvl now but he would be lom so you could whoop him in pvp easy enough soon as mob dead and maybe even get the kill before he had chance to loot mob. If he wasnt nuking and was just root/rotting ya your dot's will out do his np so you could ks him. Keep in mind tho he was ass to steal your camp but by you stealing his kill (only cause he did dmg to mob first) that is also wrong and 2 wrongs dont make a right.

I'd just put on ignore yes and if you keep a list of peps that irritate you when you get higher in lvl have no worries unless he comes at you with a charmed mob from the planes he wont stand up to you. If does have pet just dispell his charm they really like that.

At 49 your not gonna beat a 65 anything, unless they're afk or instantly comatosed after accepting your duel.

Although it's very true all classes have idiots among their ranks, as far as solo'ers go...I think necros have the fewest. I'm also almost positive the druidic population across norrath is home to the most stupid, brain-dead, annoying, useless, pieces of wastes of air, I've ever seen.

I made an alt, finally. I gave into the pressure, innate enduring breath lost it's luster. I did an ldon with a pure pick-up group, something I'm sure I will never ever do again due to the druid and tank being big piles of steaming shite. I'm glad there was nothing sharp withing reach, because a fork in my eye-socket woulda been more tolerable then the damn druid. "If being annoying was a sin, you'd burn in hell for eternity" (quoting myself) and he went on ignore after 15mins. His mother should be slapped, his father should be shot.

Anyway, I feel ya on the druid thing..some think because they have tracking and know what's spawned, they own them all. A quick little piece of tastey info for you non-pvp'ers. Druid aa evac has a long refresh time..so if first you don't succeed (in training they're gay asses) try try try again, soon.

Rofl jeb that was a good post. Drus do seem to have, well the biggest ass clown population in the game but they arent all that way. If u are a vindictive person (like myself) wait till you hit 65 and seek the sob out, duel himn and knock his ego down a peg or two. Drus arent the easiest to duel but they sure as hell arent hard. Youd be surprised at 65 how powerful we are....Why I LOVE the necro powah. mught want to get a few aa's yourself before you duel him but you should have no problem. Good luck to you on your adv's.

Some people just suck no matter what class they play but you do tend to get more annoying players in the druid and cleric classes then any other for some reason.

A few days ago, I was farming finger bones in Gunth. All I heard was half the zone /ooc lol and some mage bitching about getting trained after a bard politely /ooc that they were swarming in this area. Sad thing is the mage walked in the middle of the swarm.

Almost every single bad encounter (with a character) I have is with a druid. Granted it's few and far between I even see them now, but it's almost always about camp contention. Just because it's on their tracking window, doesn't mean they own it.

My first real experience with this was in the grey, spawning named at the sun revs, only to see a druid come by and try to gank them. Well annull magic is a B*tch when your kiting a few already, I hope he enjoyed his exp loss and long azz run back /grin.

Every once in a great while, when I'm in veksar...I'll hear a druid calling 5-6 camps at once, even though he can't clear'em...at that point I just help the necro he's berating, and clear every single camp this side of the shop...they get bored and leave usually =).

I honestly don't know where the mentality that druids seem to have comes from. The stupidity and greed baffles me. I almost never go out of my way to grief someone, although with dr00ds, it's getting harder and harder not to. They don't do any one thing better then anyone else. Every role they can fill in a group can be filled better by someone else. We out solo them. Wizards quad kite better. They seem to be the red-headed step-children of norrath, or atleast act like it. It's kinda sad really.

A druid asked me for advice while I was playing my rogue the other day, because he kept dying. I told him, type /camp, click delete, hit yes...then goto subscription options, and hit cancel account...Then he trained me with light blue and green cons. Thanks for the emerald, and 15pp in coin. NOTHING worse then training someone and letting them live...it's like trying to commit suicide and only wounding yourself.

One of my best friends is a druid and always conducts himself the way all player should. I do agree though that as a whole, druids and bards are a pain in the arse.
I popped into HoH the other night just in time to see a druid pull and root, not snare, root, the front 2 guards in the entrance to the GY and start dotting them. While I am not prone to doing such things, a couple of quick annul magic and the congestion was cleared and the druid was zoning.

We rule Vek, period, but doesn't mean we should be antagonistic. If you're not engaged with a mob you don't have any claim to it. This doesn't mean we have an obligation to be a dick and take some poor sod's nameds after they've kept them cleared, but it does mean they don't have a right to complain if we do. I've been on both sides of this coin.

As my cleric (my original char) and 63 monk (2box) I once logged in to see a fully spawned room with a shopkeeper in Vek. There was nobody there, so I figured screw it and I killed it. Just as I was looting a necro rolled up on the scene and starting bitching me out. (yes it had a belt) I politely told her she had no claim to it since she wasn't around, to which she replied "ever heard of real life issues, I had to [blah blah], or asking for a camp check?" I felt bad about it until.. lets not get ahead.

People, you aren't "camping" something unless you're sitting there. If you've left the immediate area of a said mob, (even for 2 min) it's fair game. Clearing 7 named spots in Vek? Goodie for you. I do this as well with my necro. If you're not there when something pops, however, and someone takes it, tough titty ..especially if the mob was killed by a non tracking class. I explained all this (niceley) and the bitch trained me 2 minutes later. I just hit my cleric's IVU AA and ran back into the chef area until her crap cleared. Then I gated back to the shop. 20 minutes later I trained her in the bath room with my monk who'd been FD'ed this whole time. Said train consisted of shop, highborns, animated hands, chef/crusader area, monk building, and golems. She died. I guess she didn't realize the monk was my alt because she sent me an apologetic tell followed by a rez request. I was soon rezzing her back in. (nice "forgiving" guy that I am)

The point is, if someone says camp check, pick a room. Hell, pick 2, but don't yell off a grocery list. People ask for campchecks for their convenience, not because they give a shit about you. It sucks to work your way to a spot only to find it taken. Some asshole 65 necro in PoN was killing ALL the werewolves in PoN the other day. I had about 30 min to play, so instead of doing gargs had gone over to kill a couple WW's. This dood had the nerve to KS my werewolf. I was like "WTF?" He said "this camp is mine." /Shrug. I grudingly let it go because, shit, there's 4000 things to kill in PoN, but my god. Exactly. Just because one CAN be a dick doesn't mean they should. So yep, I've run into dr00ds and n3cr0s alike. My motto is, fight fire with fire.

i think bards and druids attract those types because they can..they can handle groups of mobs and they can track for those named...so they can hide out, wait for us to clear out our camps, then swoop in and snipe the nameds...

nobody else has the ability to handle masses of mobs AND track...hell rangers can't even handle ONE mob ;P

so, if you're an asshole looking out for number 1 you're going to go to a class that suits that..and bard and druid suit that to a t..

I never ever have a problem with bards... Well once, until I fd'd Guardian of Doomfire on him. /squish It's crappy to have to deal with camp stealers, and people who would wait for you to clear to a mob, and spawn a named just to come in and take him. My motto is..if you want one mob in my camp that badly, you must want them all...at once, and so sir/ma'am you shall have them all at once. Good luck!

We all have our moments, just some more than others. I bet even the Famous mr Jebasiz has been referred to as a prize wanker at some stage of his career, whether he is or no.
I aint no druid lover, in fact I rather dislike the little buggers, just think labelling them as all bad is wrong.

One day I was playing my shaman in Umbral Plains and I see Gantru Radulkan strolling along. I'm thinking, 'cool' until this druid calls out in OOC, "Radulkan is camped!"

I raise an eyebrow.
Having him targeted, I click assist. Nope, he hasn't a care in the world.

I look around.
No one to be seen.

So I pull him and proceed to duke it out. A few minutes later the druid show up and says, 'Didn't you see my OOC?'

I reply, 'Yes, but I didn't see you and he was not engaged. Something being on track is not the same as something being camped.'

The druid responds, "Then can we at least roll the bracer?'

'No, we can't.'

Later the same day, I see the same druid OOC "need help at Elysian camp'. Then a min later, "Aren't you coming?"

I do a /who and it's just me and her in the zone.

Mabra, I get mad at that tree huggin druid just by reading your post. That kind of shit pisses me off to no end. The same thing happened to me once when I was like 40 or something. I zoned into SRO and asked around if AC was camped....heard nothing back after asking several times. I then proceeded to call the camp myself and about 20 minutes later guess who pops. I then engage it and fry its ass hardcore. After I dropped it I get this tell from a druid (what a surprise)...."I was camping AC asshole....the ring is mine." I then proceed to tell him nicely that I called the camp and asked several times if anyone else had a camp. He said that he didn't see my posts and that he was campin AC for a friend (after I told him that druids don't need j-boots anyway). I told him too bad and looted the ring. He sent me rude tells for like 3 hours after that, and said some pretty horrible shit like hoping my mother dies of cancer and shit like that. It's unbelievable the kind of people that you might find. But for the most part, I respect and admire most of the people that play EQ, but that very small percentage piss me off to no end.

Right, forget my previous post. Druids are wankers! All druids are shitheads! I have never really liked the bastards but always gave them the benefit of the doubt because, well, maybe it's just their alt and they are really decent folk deep down who play a Necro main. But no. I was playing around in CS the other night trying for a few arctic hides. I had the zone to myself for well over an hour. I had just started a new cycle and was into about my 5th or 6th kill when I get a tell from a druid saying......" No need to be greedy, there's 2 of us here." WTF? Your a druid. Quad, 5, 6 at a time. Don't wait for me. I mean I didn't even know anyone was there.
I said np mate, go for it. I kept on killing. Then get a tell from mr druid calling me a rude "asshole". Even as I write this im still in shock. It got to the stage where he called in backup from another druid in his guild and they monopolised the whole zone. Well all the Wyverns anyway. Through this I recieved sporadic tells explaining how I was greedy prick and I had my chance to comply with their wishes. WTF? I still have no idea why things went like they did. I left the zone as soon as druid2 zoned in basically because I had no time nor patience to deal with a situation like that. Screw the person behind the character. Druids suck ass big time. Lol i read these posts with a grin cos on pvp server this shit doesnt happen often (maybe the nature of pvp players). Camp Check for one is very rarely answered due to pkers using it to find you..

Druids I have few problems with (i think mainly cos i am what is laughingly in some quarters regarded as an "honourable pvper". I used to fight to the death and suck my death up like a true necro would.. "Ill be Back!" followed byt a "/grin" and "good fight". Now if im about to die i gate due to the stupid sick snare that they put into the game cos of a few fefs! The only druid who IS a tosser is Biddin. Biddin should be both deleted and shot. Ive come to the conclusion that Biddin was conceived by the bastard offspring of an idiot and his cousin and displays the family traits. (You get the feeling i dont like him?)

BARDS seem to the be prize dickweeds on Vallon.. jsut cos they can run REAAALY fast so you cant catch them and cast dots when running they never accept that they should leave pvp.

camp contention on pvp is strange cos if the player /cons white u wait for them to finish the kill and kill them. Camp is yours. This is why i love pvp servers it was never pure pvp for me its the paranoia it can generate in ppl. When cash loot was allowed (STUPID CHANGE SOE!!!!) noone in their right minds at 35-40 stayed in rathe with more than 5-600pp cos you were asking for it to be stolen!


I would agree that every class has the tossers.. I know of some necros that are but they tend to be easy to spot at high levels cos they rarely have a guild. Most high end guilds value their reputations more than their players so anybody pissing with it will be booted.

You get to know the ppl who are fun hell i was in PoTranquility thew day after the pvp changes chatting with a rival guild necro on what spells hes had land and what ive had. We both killed each other before (most notibly when i got blood of thule and saryrns kiss on him before he lifeburned me and we both died ;) ) we highly likely to again but at the time it was a friendly chat.

If not on a pvp server i dont know what to suggest.. as a necro you can hunt most zones so if he pissing u off that much go somewhere else? I nkow the xp might not be as good etc but its not worth your stress cos believe me the dude is getting off on pissing you about.
