View Full Version : Plane of Tactics Solo
So I got Tactics flagged and would like to solo here for a change of pace.
I did a search, but couldn't find a guide or thread on Tactics soloing.
I've heard "the pit" mentioned, root rotting, and charming...but I need some more info. I know it's not as good xp as HoH, but I need a change of scenery.

Most necro soloing in Tactics happens in the "safe room" located at the same level as the ledge around the pit. When you zone in, head up the stairs (invis) and go straight till you see the pit (you can't miss it). Head around the pit to the left, and as you round the corner, you'll see a fairly large empty room. This is the so called "safe room" as nothing spawns in here.
Basically, the tactic is to pull stuff from outside the room in and aggro kite it. I'm not sure if any other description is needed. If you've done HoH this place is cake.

Yep, pretty much what Ckorrn said. The area is called the "sandbox" sometimes if you need a campcheck. The only thing up on that level that can see invis is the Tormented Soul (black robe mob, can also be charmed if you're into that).
You will be pulling the Diaku that spawn around the top of the pit and the north sandbox room. Some are static, some wander around the pit. Affliction Haste is recommended, since some can resist snare several times and hit for ~500. All but the Deathknights are melee and easy kills.
The Deathknights are SKs and will HT, snare, and dot you. Keep your MR up (140+, use our self shielding and scrap FoS if you have it on) and you'll resist a lot of it. Try to stay our of casting range as often as possible. If you do get snared, I find it easiest to back off the pet and root rot them until snare wears off. Make sure they stay snared themselves. Worst case, FD and resign to losing your pet and starting over. Their worst dot is Blood of Hate, which can burn off a chunk of hp pretty quickly. I prefer to always have a Virt when I go here and always keep Forceshield up.
There is a rare chance that you will get a single wanderer spawn in the little alcove room in the south wall, usually a tortured soul or gladiator. If there is a timer to it I have never figured it out. I think it may just wander all over until it is killed and then repop eventually to roam again. If it does pop, no big deal, just kite it along with the others. You won't see it often.
NOt much more I can think to say about the camp. Like any aggro-kite camp, it get's easy and boring once you're used to it.
Congrats on the flag Eyez ! The kite room is good exp, but can get old, you get a lot of resists, and as far as I know, nothing of any value drops in this area, at least I never had anything worth looting drop. Give it a try, then when you tire of it all, go here http://www.rpgexpert.com/2741.html Same experience and MUCH better drops :) (Don't mess with the bugs)

As all kiting it can get old ))
the guide is about right but just to add i got a Highly Polished Gem off a deathknight kiting in the saferoom and sold for 20k so you CAN get some nice items..
If that gets easy you could try the suicide kite down through the pit into the room by the stables.. basically root rot the wanderers in the middle of the room rot one of the corner mobs and kite the last.. one word of warning is the stampede that happens occasionally.. if u lucky u can FD kill your mob and be ready for the piglet as it returns root fd let the mobs disperse kill piglet u can get tacvticians bulwark war masters staff etc from that but it takes some work

Solo'ing the pig pen is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Only thing you have to do is pay attention to the roamers. Root rot the guy in the corner to make kite room, kite the roamers, then kite the rest of the stuff in the room. Pull random mobs until you see the stampede, root the piglet as it runs by, FD if you have to, get it snared, kite it or tank it if your so inclined. Free tribute items.
Question...
If you zone-in and make a left and go straight to an area with a large drop off - is this the "pit" where the stampeding piglet is?
Thanks

When you zone in. you are facing a wall, with stairs going down to the right and stairs going up to the left. Rotate left and go up the stairs (be sure to invis first). If you keep running, you will come to the pit. Turn left before the pit and follow the wall into the Sandbox room, and set up camp on the far wall away from the pit area. /pet taunt off, /pet guard, go pull something with darkness. The mobs will resist sometimes, but with AH 4 item, you can run to the other side of the room and get another cast off before he hits you (well, at least more than once). This is my favorite solo spot. I get about 7 blue AA ticks per kill. (I hate Deathkights). If you partner with another necro, or *gasp* a druid. this camp becomes almost no risk.
The piglet in down in the pit and only comes with the stampede. There is a zone-wide msg before they come. Something like "you hear the stampede of thundering hoofs". I have not sole'ed in the pit yet, but would like to when I have better gear and my defensive AA's.
