exp for a up and commer

ok hi all i just want to start by saying what a awsome web page this is hats off to the web master...

ok my main is a ranger and I have always played pretty legit so i started a necro some time back and I fell in love with him. any one that has played a ranger knows that soloing is really not that productive and you really always have to have a group for exp...

well any way at the moment i am lvl 49 well almost like 10% away. i was wondering if you guys had any other sugestions then just what is posted here on places that soloing is a great way to get exp. i notice that most post are more based on money and such, but that is not a big deal for me as i can farm with the ranger. i acually have a few qestions about some zones...

1. when is it good to go to the grey and solo the undead? is this efective?
2. does any one have a good way to solo POJ or any of the other planes with effective use of mana and crowd control?
3. CHA what do i need high or low? (i here mixed things)
4. what lvl can i go to veskar FOR EXP NOT LOOT?

really i am just looking for a few ideas on places to hang out alone that are easy camps with not much chance of adds and deaths (i really hate dying lol). any insight will help a bunch i have been reading posts here for about a year and really love the info on this page (so dont burn me to bad remeber im a ranger lol). oh and btw im by no means a twink i dont belive in it so i am using about 4k worth of gear and by no means have a uber geared toon mostly stuff i have been able to farm with him or buy at a good price in the bazaar.

Check the hunting links stickied on top of this page. They list many good solo spots.

You want high CHA. Low CHA is useless. CHA will lower your buy prices and raise your sell prices. It supposedly has a positive effect on charm the higher it is. Other than getting good prices CHA is not too useful.

1. The grey has a negative zone xp modifier, so it may not be worthwhile to hunt there, unless you want practice with charm killing.

2. I don't know anything about POJ.

3. Log parsing has shown that CHA has no effect on charming or fear. Some people believe it does, but I haven't seen any scientific evidence for believing that. The only proven factors that affect charm duration are level and MR. High CHA helps you sell stuff to merchants for more money. Keep a couple of steins handy for dumping merchant loot.

4. I went to Veksar for xp at level 55. Your mileage may vary. I can kite the goblins up and down the front steps. I can also pet tank the crusaders and sentries with shackle and a lvl 49 pet. Biggest issue is mitigating the harm touch. Get a Virtue and use manaskin. Also, get your MR up or the crusaders will fear you into the goblins.

When you have shackle of spirit and are post 50. Cast shackle of spirit on the mob and let you pet tank, use your pet heal spell and HP trnafer from you to target spell up. Make sure your pet is hasted and keep two dots on the mob, one being your lifetap dot. No this isn't mana efficient.

You have FD, that is your crowd control, or use Screaming Terror and hope it works. PoD is a good entry level plane for Aggro Kiting.

CHA has no effect on Undead Charm for Necros. Anyone whos states otherwise is full of shit.

55+ You can aggro kite the Gobies and Undead entrance mobs you should be able to pet tank without any problems.

I know that FD is a way to control mobs but this is a last ditch effort if you are already engaged with another mob?? was just asking if any one had found a place in POJ that was effective to kite or pet tank with out having to realy on FD and ST.
i like to think of my self as a tactical guy that will study a place for days before killing a mob that is why i ask these qestions would rather have some insight before i get whacked and lose a bone chip.

Thanks for the good stuff that you guys have already posted i will be trying some of the things that have been said and i am sure that other necros out there are glad to see differant zones posted then the ones they see on every page.

I will continue to try to find place other then what is already posted on this page to farm EXP any sugestions are welcome.

The grey exp is about the worst your gonna find. Around 52 you can do scarlet desert sun revs on the plateau, that's decent exp. They're undead so it's easy. I don't know how resists would be in PoM around 55ish (it was buried deep in NToV when I was pre-65, and it was different then). Dulak should be good, or group in nurga/poj(basement). Nurga is a "hot spot" around that level, and people need "snarers" (new word?) so it shouldn't be impossible to get a group..also screaming terror should work great there, and may be soloable..IF you pick your spots (IE the zone in after you drop down the waterfall..wouldn't be a good spot).

I did PoJ if u and your pet are under 58 u get adds, if u under just pull mob to gy area kite there. Look For the monk 1st then sents if non of them up grab whatever u want if u get to gy and more then one come fd and wait.

I think i did it starting at 51 but got easier as u go iam 65 and still Kite the Highguardens for nice easy aa exp.

You can solo Nurga at the slave pit to the left of the tracks near the entrance.

There's a non-kos quest npc of varying race standing there. That's your camp spot. There's a roamer and a static spawn in front of you. Clear the static, then the roamer, next spawns are a pair. If you are 54+ you can single pull all of these but at 51 they will both aggro. Use FD to split them. Next spawn is a single. Next room has 5 but you can pull and get 2 or 3 and FD split them. Next is a single. Next spawn after that is a special goblin, challenging or similar, that is a shaman with higher lvl, more hp, and a pet than the usual ones. He also aggros more easily. Kill him and there's another room, but by this time you should be getting back spawn. First room has a named slavemaster and the second a named burnyai. Slavemaster drops a ring worth over 1k tribute.

Oh, as far as actually killing these, root rot the first two, then lvl 4 fear kite the rest.

You can solo in PoM at 55, resists aren't horrible, but you will have some. Not for the faint of heart, although once you get the zone down it is surprisingly easy. PoM has to be one of the coolest zones i've ever killed in, hands down. Once I get down with my time there I plan on writing a guide since there aren't any good ones that I've seen. Also, whenever you bringup PoM people just start bitching and moaning about how much 1.0 was better. /shrug never got to 1.0 but it's still an awesome zone now, rarely populated and if there are people there, usually you can bum into a group (mad xp).
