6th Skullcap

I am currently working towards my 6th skullcap and have been camping the Sarnak Fortress located in the south west corner of Lake of Ill Omen, as per various write-ups on Alla's and on this board.
I have been doing this using my 65 Ranger and essentially decimating the entire fortress inluding the towers near the back door. After 5 hours and 30 minutes of this I have yet to see even one - a sarnak revenant - on track, let alone actually get to kill one.
What am i doing wrong?

It's all a matter of luck. For my revenant kill, it was up already. I've seen them all over the fortress, but most commonly I think they spawn in the rooms that are near the "front gate".

i just ran through killing everything i could find there till it spawned...pretty much always in the hall way inside, then i think it wanders toward the outside if you don't kill it first

The 6th skullcap is mine. Posted below is an outline of what I know.


After you do the hand in's for your 5th skullcap, Master Kyvix says:

Master Kyvix says 'I did not expect you to return. You have made me lose a bet with one of the other scholars. Seeing as you have delivered the tome, I shall not harm you, but rather welcome you into the rank of occultist. Now go see Keeper Rott and tell him you are [the chosen occultist].'

You say, 'Hail, Keeper Rott'

Keeper Rott bows before you. His eyes are kept wide by metal pins which distort his eyelids. 'Greetings! You have stumbled upon the cave of the Keepers. We record the arcane secrets of the Brood of Kotiz. We have scribed many spells and make them available to all those who are deserving. Please, have a look.'

You say, 'I am the chosen occultist'

Keeper Rott kneels before you abjectly. 'Oh, great occultist! I am glad you have arrived, but I do not have the artifacts Kyvix seeks. You will have to seek out the sarnak revenants who still hold the precious stem and base. Get them and take them with your occultist skullcap back to Master Kyvix. Since you are headed in the general direction, I also have an [additional mission], if you do not mind.'

Now take your Candlestick Stem, Candlestick Foot and 5th skullcap and hand them in to Master Kyvix. I did the hand in in one go, that is, all three items in the one trade window.

Master Kyvix grabs the candle parts and puts them in an odd pouch, then takes your cap, which disintegrates in his palm. He hands you another cap. 'Welcome, Revenant Anon. You have done well. The Harbinger awaits you. He seeks a [new revenant].'

Some things to note:
- Master Rott mentions an "additional mission". I believe this is for a side quest. I disregarded it and simply did the hand in's to Master Kyvix without completing Master Rott's quest.
- I obtained both the candlestick stem and the candlestick foot from - a sarnak revenant - in the Sarnak Fortress in LOIO.
- Stem identified as Item Lore: Stem of a Kor Sha Candlestick.
- Foot identified as Item Lore: Foot of a Kor Sha Candlestick.
- I found the first revenant at approx. neg2890, pos4000 and the second revenant at approx neg2400 pos4150. Locs are taken from EQAtlas map titled Lake of Ill Omen Sarnak Fortress (http://www.eqatlas.com/kunark/lakeofillomensarnakmap.html).
- If there are PH's for the revenants I do not know what they are. I simply whacked anything that moved inside the Fortress and out near the back door and front gate.
- I did it in two sittings. The first was a 6 hour stint during which time I saw no revenants. The second stint lasted 1.5 hours during which time 2 revenants spawned. The first (locs mentioned above) dropped the stem and the second dropped the foot.
- Skullcap 7 requires a - Gem of Yet to Come - which drops off - a sarnak gem oracle -. This chappie spawns in the Fortress as well so whilst you are doing your camp, keep an eye out for him.
