Ok im a level 26 necro on Vallon Zek. People always say yea yea necros are great soloers.. that was true, WAS until i got up to about lvl 20. My Dots are so out of date.. im forced to use lvl 12/16 dots on lvl 25-27 mobs.. whats up with that? and can someone explain to me how to kite mana efficiently? should i aggro kite? or fear kite? and why? ok ty for ur time.. :)

OOk 26 DE necro on Vallon Zek firstly stay pure and second join High INfidelity ;-)

Adds over lol

at 26 I solo'd in Lake of Ill Omen.

I know theres alledgedly an xp penalty but i never noticed it.

I concentrated on red charbone skeletons.

Root with hungry earth slap on darkness and your dots, sit and watch him die.. when root breaks if u got your timing right fear with spook the dead (or equivalent) sic pet. With using the undead only spells this is mana efficient and with killing red mobs xp is pretty good.

You cn vary this up by killing gobs and sarnaks if u want but obviously they need fear kiting all the way and this takes a bit more mana.

Do you have 24 pet? this makes a massive difference (I used 20 pet till 29!!) if u need spells researching find the words and drop me a tell. Unless im busy im always happy to help.

Without a doubt, aggro kiting is the most mana efficient kite you can perform solo. Especially great in big open zones such as Loio and OT. Hit with darkness, dot, pet taunt off, /pet attack, run, sit and rinse repeat if necessary. I did OT at 19 this way from the outpost.
Try this with gnolls in SK at spires. Probably pretty quiet there these days I would think.

24-30, needlites, hands down, especially on a pvp server wehre the extra defensive skills might save you, or not. LoIO's only advantage by this time is most people have realized it's a horrible zone so you're not as likely to run into pk'ers.

Might want to try Unrest. Almost all of zone is undead so you can nuke/dot/slow/ hell maybe even mellee to max out that defense skill soon as you can is pain to raise it at higher lvls. Would do 2nd floor if i were you can go higher when you upper 20's if carefull and basement around 30-31. Should be able to solo there np.

So far this has been a pretty generic kiting thread, nothing specific to a PVP server other than a note to work on defense.

Probly gonna move this to Hunting Grounds... but I've got a couple questions:

Which soloing method works better as a PvP defense? Is fear-kiting better in guarding against another player planning on ganking me? They can still go after me, but while Fear's in effect, I don't have to worry about a mob.

How about soloing locations that are more PvP defensible?

Now days not much difference there are peps out there who dont care if you have mob on you or not they will just think your easier to kill this way. Previously i thought agro kiting was better as they could actually see a mob moving towards you where if mob was feared and they not familiar with zone they might assume regular pathing unless your pet was very noticably beating on it.

PvP soloing locations for me personally was usually camps located a minimum of 3 if not more zones away from a city or port/book. Most peps looking for pvp seem to lazy to go out and explore prefering instead to camp zonelines near pok access points. Terrain also playes a big part as you dont want to get caught in tight quarters against tanks so outdoor zones are best.
