[Sorry if this is covered elsewhere on the board. If it is please, could someone point me to it, my searching produced no results.]

Does anyone have any suggestions, links, uploads, etc. for or to some good, functional, necro UI's? Currently I am using the default UI with the t.king skull cast bar and spell book. They're pretty but they don't really offer any new functionality over the pure default UI. I'm looking for something that might have spell timers built in (does such a UI exist?) More hotkeys? (Again, does such a thing exist?) Something that might make using clicky gear easier? Basically something that adds move value than just aesthetics

There really isn't a good UI for necros. Whatever a person's UI is, is their personal preference.

Personally, I have a lot of mixed stuff, and none of it matches, at all. But hell, I don't care. I have (so far, if I want something, I go and lookg for one); a better player window (displays current/max weight, XP, Level, class, name, surname, and a few stats), a hotbutton window (has all 8 inventory slots as well as 8 gear slots, in addition to the 10 hotbuttons on each), a different guild window (not much different), different spell icons (I used to be a WCIII player, so I use those icons and are more appropriate than the normal ones IMO. Btw, I use the shammy ones), and I believe that's it. I like to mix it up to meet my needs, not one thing to look the same.

Good luck, young necro.

aye i agree with Ill. I have a custom UI mostly from eqinterface but its mixed and matched to my own tastes on things. I have never liked the FULL packages as i prefer to leave some things as is and modify others.

My UI evolved from the Icey Blue interface, melded into some of the vert UI, and then I just got sick of some of the little things that I didn't like about it, and decided to mod it myself. So now my UI is entirely my own work, and suits my tastes perfectly. I tweak it occasionally, but overall, I'm pleased with how it is now. If you're interested in seeing a screen shot of it, send me a PM with your email address, and if you like it, I'll send you a zip of it to try out.

Thanks you all for your suggestions, I will check out those sites for some of what I am looking for.

I was mainly interested in things like spell timers and additional hotkeys. Though I'm 99% certain that it's not possible to get the additional hotkeys but I figured I should ask before writing off the possibility altogether. However, I keep hearing people talk about spell timers, here and on other sites. Is there a way to get a visual spell timer IN-GAME? Or are people using 3rd part programs for this? I know some 3rd party utils like <cough> ShowEQ <cough> can do this, but I'm looking for something that's not going to get me in trouble and/or require me to run in windowed mode.

Thanks,

Yes, there are spell timers for the EQ UI.

I don't use them personally. Big hassle in my opinion. Never liked them at all.

Check out EQskins (now located at EQstratics), I'm sure they have a few.

This website has 2 timers on it. The top one i dont really care for but the bottom one i attached to my "/NOTE" screen for when i want to time mob spawns. The top one would be more beneficial if i was say a buffing class or what not and i may grab that one for one of my alts. Its nothing fancy but it is fairly customizeable.

my favorite UI has got to be the Night Elf theme which is listed on the above link it has a great look to it imho, and places for important clickies in bag windows as well as the group window.

it is also upgraded for oow and allows 9 spell gems should u have the aa.
this UI has a bit of a ranger focus with an annimated "swiftwind" curser. the setup looks great at most resolutions too.

altho i was used to a smaller spellbar window i have become more used to the new setup that goes across the top of the screen and have adjusted my hotleys for ease in casting whatever i need to. the spell icons look good too are easy to read and differentiate better than the default imho.

with a small amt of tweaking thisone is a gem... and i have asked the designer to make a more necro oriented curser if he has the time.

Sars is where it's at. It's a bit of a pain targeting boxes to organize it the way you want it, but after you figure that out...it's amazing.

Actually, I replaced SARS with Delta spaghetti remix on this page.

It comes with a file that you rename so that all your windows are positioned perfectly and I really like the changing colors on the HP bar. Great for a necro who desn't pay close attention to his HP during Lich and awesome for a cleric too. The only drawback is you have to run it at 1280 x 1024.

I have been using the Lords of Everquest themed skin for looks and for functionality. It has a great pet window and tabbed windows so you can quickly get to your inventory and clickies:

I use a modified Delta couldn't give ya name it rocks though can't find an update for oow though so it may be dying soon as I can't use my additional spell slot. Been meaning to get a pic of it and post here keep forgetting maybe tonight shrug if I remember that is.

LOL, I was also going to suggest the Lords of Everquest Theme. I love it. Only thing I owuld like to see in this theme would be is my max weight and weight I am at withuot going into inventory! I would recommend this theme to anyone! Really increase my enjoyment experience of EQ.
