well, i never thought i would do this, but since i'm not playing eq1 any more, haven't logged in since i got my eq2 account set up, i figure i can bid adieu to this board..

i had fun with all you crazy necros, and will miss the in game chat...we should set up a necrotalk eq2 channel, even though i'm sure many of us won't be playing necros...

as for anyone who has anything negative to say to me, about me, whatever..well..i learned a long time ago that you cannot please everyone all the time, and trying just makes you depressed and angry and tired. i'm sorry if the fact that i have an opinion and dare to state it, if the fact that i won't sit back and allow somebody to call me a bad parent when they don't even know me, or any other assaults that have been flung..i just don't do it..and if you don't like that, that's great for you...

i'll probably swing by here now and then, as old habits are hard to break, and visiitng this board and checking for new stuff is definately a habit, i'll probably post now and then, but i don't really have any in game advice to give, as i'm no longer playing.

have fun everyone, to aryse and umbrello, you guys have a great board here and don't let the nay-sayers get to ya...the flames and discussion here are much less hostile than pretty much 90% of the boards, forums, and mailing lists i've been part of...so that says a whole lot..if somebody is offended by what happens here, i lay odds that they don't have much experience with on-line communication ;)

anyways, i guess i'll see everyone round /waves

Seriously, as a new comer to Necros I would like to say thank you to all of the posters here, not just those who are leaving, been a real help to me with my Necro, and of course fun to read the posts.

Will be joining EQ2 soon as well, but only as a side to EQ1.

About 5 years ago...my friend told me the same thing about EQ1. We laughed, had a beer and registered for our accounts anyway. We've both recently quit, when I bring that up to him, he just shrugs...and says, "ok I'm stupid." I know for a fact Niri is quite intelligent. It's just that EVERY game that has come out since Ultima Online has had detractors and naysayers.

EQ would be considered VERY small and lacking content had it launched today like it did with only antonica, faydwer, and odus. Also consider the planes weren't ready when it launched, Nagafen and Vox weren't killable/tuned/completed yet, there was no kedge keep, and erudite Necromancers had no paineel, that had a single house. The playing community will shape WoW and EQ2 over their lifespans...if they evolve badly, it's due to stupid feedback, by people who don't understand how to develope a game. Both have potential to crest in population in 2-3 years, and slowly decline when vanguard, D & D and the like launch, much similar to the population line that EQ1 has enjoyed/followed.

yep..it all depends on what the developers do with patches and expansions and what happens in the higher level game...it's too new right now to say one way or the other, but so far i'm hooked on eq2
