Weird: no 61+ Mage pet should be fearable... and, if they are, the Mage should have used their unfearable buff spell to prevent it.

I thought pet were unfearable to 60, However asking around and doing it it is 63. And I was shocked too I gain XP from it. I was as shock as you for getting it.

If memory serves correct... which hardly ever happens, mage pets are never unfearable by default. its a pet buff mage has, only necro pets are innate unfearable after a certain level
edit: nm didnt see the other guys post

yep, Your correct.... I was using nullify Magic to completely debuff the pet and then Feared it. Then When he woundering what going on. I sent pet on him! He was swearing up and down how could my pet be interrupting his casting so much. With out do 4 good rounds of nullify magic. Two on pet and two on player I was undable to land any spells. I just wanted to share my joy to all about this NECRO Victory in DARKNESS.

I dont know why you would.
Back before I transfered off VZ I routinely took down peps higher in lvl and with stock piled aa's. Just a simple matter of being prepared and knowing the strengths and weakness's of the class you are facing. Must say tho I wasnt aware necro pets were the only ones with innate fear resistance. Hey I learned something today!

As a 53 necro i took out a 60 warrior with no problem, that was basically just tank tapping him...but then again on my 70 monk, level 70 necros are no problem for me. Kinda odd i guess~

Tumuuan.... Well I know what your thinking and I undertsand. There was a time that I did not understand the power and tatics a Necro can use to do this. However I have people from this board that was in the Arena . Azul was there when this happen. That's right living DEAD girls. Me and he we were guildies. It did take me alot of work figuring out my tatics. However I just want to share my joy of victory.

If it took such a small amount of damage to kill the mage, he was either equipped in low-level Bazaar trash and utterly clueless, or else this never happened. Yes, necromancer pets become immune to fear, at Level 59 and beyond -- that is, all our spectre pets. As far as landing screaming terror on a 61+ mage pet, I'm impressed -- I can't land darkness on mage pets, and I'm level 70. It's almost as bad as snaring a beastlord pet with Fero. on.
At 62, that mage pet would have worked your 49 pet over in about an instant, and you would've been dead in one or two Bolts of Tallon, and a little bit of pet melee, if the mage had been worth his salt. This isn't a case of a clever necromancer beating a powerful mage, if indeed this happened at all. This is a case of an idiot mage being toasted by a necromancer that really shouldn't have lasted more than 20 seconds in the fight.
Really -- one critical on the Bolt of Tallon, and the 49 pet is cooked. A few more, and so are you -- you won't resist a Bolt with that kind of level disparity, unless you had a bardsong on. Whatever -- this is an old thread. Just wanted to share.

Sorry to bump, but I have a few comments.
Having played a Mage to 65 and almost 300 AA, I can assure you that all level 61+ mage pets are unfearable. They cannot be feared, and even if they were, their MR is high enuff to resist fear 100% of the time. Then again, Pets are MOBs as far as PvP goes and you cannot fear mobs higher than level 55. The only way you can get an effect that is something *like* fear is to blind it.
Second of all, Envenomed bolt has no resist adjust, you are not landing it on anyone 12 levels higher than you with any level of PR. That's just not happening. Taps, yes, EBolt, no. Also taking into effect that your taps take a horrendously long time to cast, they can get a nuke off (most PvP mages will use scars often, reasons later) before your tap goes off, even if wearing a summoned SH item.
Okay, any mage wiht brains will realize that his bolts have a 300 range opposed to your 200 range on DoTs/Nukes/LTs. Scars of Sigil casts in 2 seconds, I don't know any necro spells at 50 that can actually outcast a mage casting Scars. FBoT will rip through you in 3 casts. It will insta-kill your pet on crit, or if they have ID4 and their pet is meleeing yours and has a DS on it will kill it in 1 cast. Their pet will hit your pet for full damage and have a 80% hit rate, it's so low level (40ish vs a level 60 pet). When your pet is dead, their pet will be hitting you. They will have Velocity on their pet, so it will run at SoW speed, adn becasue you are so low level, the pet will stun you with EASE.
You see, it's hard to kill a Mage that high above you. If you were same level as him, this would be EASY to believe, pop FPoK and Pyro on him and tap the pet when he nukes (ToM has FAST cast time), but since you're level 50, this is bull. You don't even have Deflux yet.
The thing that makes Necros so powerful in PvP is that we excep at both the defensive and offensive aspects of it, and our spells are so potent. We can dot classes with spells that they cannot cure, lifetaps do DPS and HPS, our pets are comparable when we get to high levels, and our AAs are nice (SoD, WtD, etc.). At level 50 you don't even have Run 5. God forbid this mage is using epic pet (which is innately unfearable with about 300 innate MR and a 50 DS, casts a stun every 8ish second and can proc 100+ dmg on every hit if it's lucky).
