At level 35 I loved East Wastes, Ulthorks and Walrus are a lot of fun, you can fear kite them or aggro kite them. Stay away from the rhino's for a bit, while you CAN kill them, it takes a long time and they are non aggro, until of course lvl 39 then they are fair game. Make sure to kill all the bunnies as they are on the same spawn table.
Also I think the high side of Echo Caverns, killing Underbulks can also be a lot of fun and good exp, I just am a big fan of East Wastes.
Game on!

At 35 i bounced around from EW and Echo as well. I also spent some time in ToFS, but thanks Sony for taking that away from us, lol. There's a small orc camp by the Iceclad bridge that I used to FD split and pull a wanderer inbetween to spread out the spawn. If you have a partner, go to echo and split the room just outside the Deep zone.
At 39 definitely go to echo to solo. I think I spent 39-49 here. You can start at the 4 underbulk spawn and graduate to the room ouside the Taskmaster then the TM himself. The TM room is full of skellies and you can straight up pet tank them if you get your 39 slow to land, piece of cake. You can even do the TM, he's snareable and fearable. Just remember to always leave one skellie up or else you'll start the Xilniov (http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=7235) event. Nasty critter to pop on you solo, especially at that level.
Also be careful of Fireclaw (named underbulk) who's immune to root and snare, but fearable, and Trillcor, named fungal fiend whose immune to fear but snare and rootable. They both hit hard and fast for that level, but are killable. Oh and te stonegrabbers are highly resistant to anything but magic based spells, use snare and lifetap on them to get em down quick.
P.S. at 35 I think I also spent some time in Gunthak at teh undead side of the beach. You can pet tank these easily once they're snared as well.

Good Exp on the beach in Gunthak at 35
Also, if you like grouping, getting in a group at the Ramp to Skyfire zone in The Overthere is good exp. No exp modifier here, but the kill rate is just so crazy fast here that the exp is nice.
In my opinion, the keys to fast exp are:
1. The mobs die fast
2. I don't die.
3. Little to no downtime between kills.
Whether the problem is me or the zone is immaterial. If i can't do the above in a zone, i move on, regardless of the Zone Exp Modifier. Kill in whatever zone allows you to do this and you'll do well, regardless of what other ppl say.
For example, Lake Of Ill Omen has a negative exp modifier, but if your careful and avoid the nameds, at your level you could pile up massive numbers of bodies in the sarnak fort and get good exp out of it, and because of the negative ZEM, it's a very underpopulated zone great for soloing. Killing the sarnaks is good for Iksar faction, which is Required if you ever wanna do the Necro Skullcap quest If you need bone chips, there's always the skelly camp on the other side of the lake that should still get you exp.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that one.

There is no right answer.. I love the zero downtime comment, that's like the Necro creed.
I personally did 34-39 at the Skyfire Ramp in OT. It's so easy to get to from PoK.
39-41 on the beach at Gunthak. Setup up in the quiet spot by the Eudite Spirit spawn point (the one towards the middle of the beach) and you can single pull all the undead around you and use your neat new undead slow to pet tank em.
41-46 (or 49) in Echo around the Taskmaster. You can fear kite.. silly easy.
to 49/51 also on the first two ships in Gunthak.. fear kiters heaven.
to 49/51 also on Plaguebones in Dreadlands
Then it's rats and goos time, baby!

Heh
You bring back memories, Felicite. I Loved being a part of a ramp group, and casting Call of Bones. It was the first time many of those i was grouping with had seen a necro in Skeletal form.
Wish i had a log of a conversation in group chat.
Cleric: "Holy F#$%!! what happened to you, Famtin??" <<Cleric starts chain-casting heals on me trying to fix it.>>
Paladin starts running around looking for the MoB that did this and the Monk immediately FD'd. The mage is roaring laughing. and i explain that its a necro spell that trades mana for health. They requested that i warn ppl before casting it, lol.
I'm really looking forward to Wake the Dead and Army of the Dead. I think i'll be having waay to much fun with those AA's.

Aye.. it's always funny when people learn about Lich. Imagine my joy at teaching a group of 65's in BoT what Wake the Dead was.. they had.. no idea.
Or, a 65 Epiced Mage that thought "Mind Wrack" was some kind of DoT I was casting on him.. and please stop it.
But.. that is this "ramp group" of which you speak.. you mean the people watching you solo? *teases*

I was the first necro in my guild. I had previoulsy levelled a ranger to 51, but the guild was so overriden with them I wanted to be unique. I had to teach them how to group with a necro and what to expect. I kept amazing them with the amount of DPS we can do and the versatility of the class as a whole.
I loved when the cleric kept asking me if I was dotted. I laughed when I used my pet to taunt the hell out of the Pallies. I giggled when I took adds and took them out while the rest of the group worried about the MT's mob. I smiled when I got my group taps and people thought the zone was bugged because the MoB was AEing Buffs and I gleamed with pride while playing chanter at undead camp in PoV...
and the first time I woke a Dragon the healers wet themselves. Now I have to call out whe I WTD in regular groups not just while raiding as to not give the rest of them heart attacks. Nothing shuts a loud mouth up faster than telling a ranger his corpse lasted longer tanking than he did, or telling a monk his corpse had better DPS. I still have to train a few not to loot so fast so as to leave some corpses for me to play with, but nothing helps them learn faster than telling them if they don't leave some dead mobs for me to play with the next post on the guild site is gonna be their toon with "Schaeffer's Pet" where their name should be!
And now I don't know one guildie who doesn't have a necro alt B)

But yeah the more mana efficient you are, the less downtime, the better off you are, but don't let things draw out too much while engaged. If you find it's taking too pong per kill, there's no shame in trying a different spot. Not everyone has the same tastes in how they fight or the toughness of the mobs compared to the quickness of plowing through them to the XP epr mob earned. Remember that most of us did these zones along time ago so we maybe off by a few levels as to what's doable verses easy. Between all the posts above though, you should find someplace that fits your play style and mood :D B)

when i soloed i mostly went to the overthere to kill stuff from levels 19 through 51, yea i dinged 51 killing anything and everything to get a friend of mine across in style hehe. i liked the skyfire ramp but prefered to kill near the gargoyals at the OT outpost just for protection. ocasionally i would get a heal from the 'goons as they walked by ( faction fun!).
anywhere the people in this post have mentioned are good places as well, just depends on your own style.
good luck!

OMG!
How could I forget the Rangers at the Druid Ring in the Western Commonlands of Man! This camp is stupid easy starting at 34 with Invoke Fear.. low key.. you can chat with friends the entire time.. yet make a level and 500-1000p in a few hours.
And there is a merchant right there! I would stay there until I could barely move from all the coin. Second picture is the camp. (http://www.necrotalk.com/index.php?showtopic=2977)

Just came across this and ive been hunting at the SF ramp in OT and was wondering what spells i should be using to fear kite to have the least amount of downtime, i always seem to be able to kill 4-5 mobs and go from 100mana to 0 mana then have to med all the way up again.

1. Cast Call of bones on yourself as needed to regen mana fast.
2. Pull with Dooming Darkness
3. Cast Vampiric Curse
4. Cast Invoke Fear
5. Sic Pet
Dooming Darkness lasts 90 seconds(15 tics). Vampiric Curse has a duration of 9 tics. Fear lasts 7 tics. So at 5 or 6 tics re-cast fear then re-cast Dooming when Fear fades the second time. Don't need to keep Vampiric curse on the mob...just cast it as needed to keep your health up. Keep in mind that sabretooths and rhinos don't run at 20% like the cactuses and Sarnaks, but your pet should be able to handle them at that point if fear drops. If not, you can always give him summa your health.
I prefer agro-kiting, cause i can control the path and have less downtime. Make sure pet taunt is off, and you keep Dooming Refreshed. You can swap Venom of the Snake with Vampiric curse if you want when you are agrokiting and you build good agro with the casts, since you want the mob to stay mad at you and not turn on your pet -- it's a very efficient killing technique. From the SF ramp, you can run the Mobs either north along the wall or south along the wall, or even in circles to the north or south of the ramp. By agro-kiting you are doing one less spell cast(since you are skipping step #4 hehe) , and you don't have to worry about mob pathing into something that gets you an add.
Also it's a good technique to master, cause you can't fear mobs over lvl 55.
