if you are, and have decent OT faction, just charm the NPC and give him the jade..... tu dah! OT HAMMER

Well, not quite tu dah :) Before you charm him, go to the opposite side of the rest of the OT population, cause if you are in aggro range, the city population will be after you when you charm him. Also, the hammer takes either an open inventory slot or a bag with giant slots...so make sure you have room. Take two pieces of jade and try the turn in without charm first. If your faction isn't good enough, he won't give up the hammer, but he also won't give back the jade. Then you will have to charm him and do the turn in. Good luck !

Now I am curious. I have a low level friend who has no gate or ports..this hammer would come in handy for him. He is not an evil race and cannot come thru the city. If I take him in by way of the water, and while grouped, I charm the foreman, can my friend do the turn in ? Assuming it would work, I don't think the skele on the ship aggro's, so when he used the hammer, it would be a matter of jumping off the ship on the water side and swimming to the PoK book. Does all this sound reasonable or no go ? TIA

I don't think your friend will have enough faction if you charm the foreman. I think the highest he will be is indiff and you need to be amiable. Faction is easy to raise, there is a nice camp of sarnaks that you can kill and get the braids to turn in.

The skeleton on the boat is non-aggro. Charming the NPC for another player will not work. Your pets (charmed or summoned) will con amiable to you, and you only, they're indifferent to everyone else. You must be amiable or better to the foreman to turn the jade in, so if your friend is going to be forced to do the factioning for the quest.

Another thing to note is that the hammer doesn't proc til something like level 50 if I recall correctly.
