Epic question

I simply love my necro. I'm really glad I found this place!
Ok, intro done....
here is my question about the epic Is it really worth it?
I mean it seems to be one of the hardest and the most sucky.

I've heard many names but the one that just kills me is Daffy's Staff of Ducking. :blink:

So what are your views on the Necro Duck Skull Epic?

not at all. the only reason to do it is if your a quest lover of epic proportions. the feeling of reward is great indeed im sure, but the item will be a let down. in fact, mostly you probobly will bag/bank it in favor of another item.

The necro epic is actually very useful. I am 64 nec on sararyn i recently obtained my epic and it has made hate kiting completely unchallenging. Yes at this lvl i do have embracing darkness and with sos my mana stays up but having to not worry about snare makes the kills all that much faster and less mana costly. I kill the zone in frogs in pos for exp normally and usually i woulld have to cast ed about 3 to 4 times during a fight depending on resists. with epic i never really have to use that spell and with the extra 600 to 800 mana i save i can cast fp 1 or 2 more times cuasing the fight to end sooner while saving mana due to the fact that i can cast the spell as many times as i want without worry of mana cost. yes i hear people complain about the cast time but once it lands the first time the 9 second recast becomes unimportant. trust me once you get good using the epic you will enjoy hate kiting more than one mob as well. I wouldnt say its a must have cuase prior to getting it i still was able to kite well. but i would say that it is luxury having a manaless snare and all the stats and 20 int doesnt hurt much either.

I am working on the epic now with the view that by the time I get it I will have something far better to use. Currently the epic is better than what I have so it will be an upgrade. If the theory above holds true I will still end up having something better. Either way I figure I win. I would like to try it out kiting though and see how it works. Now if I could just get enough people to go with me to fear and air...
