Research 201?

Was making some spells today when to my surprise, I got an improve. My research is now 201. Is this a bug or did they raise the research skill in the last Expansion?

The cap on all tradeskills was raised, including research. As far as we know there are not actually research spells high enough to max out the skill though.

Wouldn't it be nice if they put in research combines for PoP and LDoN spells

vahak - Stop teasing me! I would love to see LDON spell to be research able. At least make the Drop common to LDONs. And Yes that would bring LDON back in business.

Since the spells are bought with points, I assume your talking about making the words more common... and with that I totally agree..

Has anyone gotten there research up beyond 201? I make several spells every day and as yet have not gotten to even 201. I make about 10 spells a day min, all are mostly lvl 227 trivials.

Is there something I've missed or are there newer spells out there I havn't seen yet since DoN became live.

Do you have any tradeskills that are over 200? Brewing, Baking, etc?

The "one tradeskill over 200" rule is still in effect.. it's just that that one caps at 300 now instead of 250.. and Research and Alchemy are included.

Once you have a skill over 200, you need to spend three AA in "New Taanan Crafting Mastery" for each additional skill you want to move past 200.

Not sure if this is the case.. but it might be.

Thanks I didn't know about the required AA's for it, guess I know where my next AA's are going now. No I don't have any tradeskills over 200 closest I have is 127 for tailoring. Thanks for info...

KK, just went to do 1st AA in New Taanan Mastery but no where does it mention research though. Not that I doubt you just don't want to spend AA's there unless it's confirmed. Can anyone confirm that they put AA's into this for advancing Spell Research?

First Tradeskill over 200 is free.. no AAs.

But.. after about 175 you can count on an average of 20-30 combines per skill up. Sometimes less.. sometimes more.

The "One tradeskill over 200" applies ONLY to the general tradeskills - Baking, Brewing, Blacksmithing, Fletching, Jewelry Making, Pottery, and Tailoring. The non-generals (Research, Alchemy, Tinkering, and Poison Making) are not bound by this rule.

I know someone with 200+ Research (he's like 205 or something) with no AAs in New Taanan Crafting Mastery and is a GM Brewer with Trophy.
