Necro Vs Ranger

How do I beat 65 Ranger in PVP? I know for a fact that he has insane regen gear, good regen spells, all the Regen AAs and he has all the archery AAs plus trueshot, I've seen him bow shot mobs for over 2700 damage on a crit. He has awesome haste and can probably get off 2 bow shots before my first spell finishes casting. He also has all the innate resist AAs and good resists on his gear. He roots/snares, has dots, DD, and that nasty bow. Any advice? I am 64 Necro. We are on a blue server but he has other chars on Rallos Zek.

it will help to be evenly matched (aa/lvl wise). get to 65. get your resist magic way up (root/snare all magic). Use your 65 pet make sure hes hasted. have your fastest casting taps and focus items for DD/dot. Use your highest damage dots that are fast acting. when he is below 45% lifeburn him. idk what your working with be more specific with what aa you have and ill work with your specific spells to help strategize

Rangers are tricky cause if they have any bow thats any good they will range you where they will be able to shoot you and you will not be able to do anything.... If your getting rooted and snared in PVP then you should not be pvping... get your MR up before you try anything... you need to even the playing field in run speed... which means that he will have sow and you will not... you either need a sow potion or you need to dispell him... again you want to open with your lifetap dot... this is key... Then tap him from then on... Rangers are a tough fight cause they can /disc and shoot you on the run even if your chasing after them...

I'd use the 61 pet, he stuns more. Stay in melee range as much as possibly, and chain lifetap. Annull him once or twice to remove any self buffs he may have put up early on..then cast Touch of mujaki upon spell refresh.

If there's a great AA/gear disparity, anything you can do..isn't going to be enough...go exp

The hardest part I would wager is a good bow has a 225+ range on it, while our spells have a shorter range which means he can be out of range of our spells while hitting us with his arrows. If you need to duel this guy I would not duel him in an open area where he can get out of reach of your spells while still hitting you with arrows. Get him in the arena or some very limited area such as in a dungeon to duel him. IF we were a mage it would be a different story since the firebolts are a long range spell. But we are not! (I aint' complaining). :-)

Your damn right..and it'd read like:

doomfir...I dunno what rangers you've been dueling, but if you let a RANGEr (looks at the capital letters please) fight you from a great distance, you deserve to loose. The trick in winning in PvP in my experience is to make whoever your fighting fight "your fight" not play to their strengths. If you give rangers the chance to load up their bow and kite you, your a sad dueler.

Get in melee range! I'd rather be doubled for 120 then shot for 550. You can EASILY cover their melee dmg lifetapping them. The same can't be said on their bow dmg.

I would say the best way to beat a ranger ( since I once had a ranger with the EQ & AM3 AAs) would be to choose a zone that has alot of obsticles. i.e Emerald Jungle. Totally negates the use of arrows if you can hide yourself behind trees and drop behind mounds. So key would be to choose a zone that you

Imo , i am not a necro expert but i dueled many rangers . So I can give you 2 choises , either get into a wall , and stay there , archery sucks when it comes to walls . or , if you are as fast as the ranger , stay as close to him as possible without being in melee range .

Of course I did my duels where I stayed like this with my lev 65 cleric on a blue server and not with my 34 necro i play on sullon zek :)

However , both things work , i guess as a highlev necro you just use your lifetap insteed of the cleric heals to keep you up and running .
