This topic was introduced by me in another thread, but I think it deserves it's own and prob a sticky note since it is so important.
Background:
Mages get pet focus items early on and have allot of them while Necros get very few. What do they do? Where can I get them?
What do Necro pet focus items do?
1) Increase your pets Level.
Why is this important? Level = more dmg to your oponent while lowering dmg to your pet.
2) Increases pets run speed to SoW speed.
Self explanitory as to why it is important. Ever have a mob not snare or break snare and your pet just cant keep up with him to do dmg?
3) Increases your pets Hitpoints.
An example is the Child of Bertox which is approx 4400 hps unbuffed. Focused with Gloves of Dark summoning he has over 5500. This is a gain of over 1000 hitpoints alone.
4) Makes him larger.
While this might not be beneficial in all cases, it can be in certain situations where agro area or physical coverage is neccessary. Besides, if you want him smaller use the spell tiny companion on him.
What are some of the Necro pet focus items?
1) Encyclopedia Necrothurgica - Plane of hate drop. Focuses pets up to Level 59 Emmissary of Thule.

2) Gloves of Dark Summoning - Focuses pets up to Level 65 Child of Bertoxxulos. Drops in Vex Thal.

3) LDoN Orb (Don't remember the name but will edit this post with it when I get it).
There are actually two levels of this augment that I have heard of from LDoN. The first is available at >760 points. It can focus all pets up to Level 65 but is a lower level focus than the second one. I have yet to see the second one and do not know it's name. The first one comes from NRo.
All in all, the pet focus items are well worth the effort to get. They make the necro pet a much more powerful ally. If you know of another pet focus item post it in this thread and lets keep it up to snuff.
