Halloo there necronewb666. There's not much I can help you with in making "your" Necromancer. I think you should create a character that will reflect on how you are and how you'll interact with PC's and NPC's. I play a Dark Elf Necromancer of Innoruuk but, I am Killed on Sight (KoS) most places I go. I like a challenge tho'. I think most people will agree that your Intelligence (INT) will be the number one ability you'll want to raise whenever you can (with weapons, armor, etc.). I immediately took up the Research skill (available at Level 16) and have been practicing it (or paying for the skill increase, when I can). Research is good as, you won't have to pay the outragous prices for the researchable spells in Bazaar. ;) Farming the words for research is pretty much free. Unless of course you die trying and pay for a Rez from a local Cleric... :D LoL. For me, it has been mostly trial and error for the last 46 levels. I am still learning things to this day. I'm not sure I have helped any but, good luck, safe journey, and happy hunting. ;)

Thanks Nyteson, but how do you research? I know you have to get the words and stuff, but where do you combine them in?

Thanks

With Pop the KOS problem of evil races stopped being the hinderence that it used to be. So any race can be played with relative ease (just keep in mind that you are an evil character and any city that you go to outside of pok someone will want to kill you).
Casters realm (http://eq.crgaming.com/menu/necromancer.asp) has some good info on plusses and minuses of each race for necros. I would highly recommend that you take all of your extra starting points and put them into Stamina. It is the hardest stat to raise through equipment and it determines the number of HP's that you have each level. Once you get your char past 50 you will want to get your HP as high as possible because necros trade hp's for mana through our lich line of spells. After you start you will want to get your int to 200 as fast as possible. Once you get your int to 200 then you can focus on getting gear that increases your HP's.

You combine words in the "Book of Dark Bindings" obtainable from the "Necramancers Supplies" Merchant in the Neriak 3rd Gate (Where you buy your spells). You can also get the "Concordance of Research" book to make practice runes at early levels to raise your skill in Research. I got my "Concordance of Research" by taking a "greater lightstone" to a Dark Elf merchant in Oasis of Marr. I'm sure there are other safer places to get it tho', not sure.
