Discuss: Attunable Gear

With attunable gear people have access to a lot better gear in the bazaar. But, because of this, some old staples for farming are not moving the way they did before. What are some of the areas you find don't provide the income they used to?

For me, a big one is Droga, which used to be a nice little cash cow. Which is a shame, because I've always particularly liked this zone... lots of named, some neat gear quests, it looks pretty cool, etc. And I just don't have the drop rate in attunable gear I ever had for sellable stuff in Droga. Not to mention Droga could be exclusively soloed.

I used to clear droga clean when I was working on the Chardok quest, but that was before revamp... has not been there after... are you talking about new droga?

I haven't been back to Veksar except to farm words for guildies, most of the gear is way outdated now and I guess some of that is attributed to attuneable gear...

I still make a killing from Chardok drops. 98% have no rec lvl. Lots of it isn't lore either.

Just out of curiosity KB, what is a killing?

I was never much of one for pharming, and from friends I get a HUGE range of what people consider "alot". (i have a friend that thinks he is broke if he has under 1000k..., when I need plat i just make sure to hang with him and I end up with a 100k or so...)

Made an easy 30k a night when farming it. Between the rare ass SK spell, GDMF, and all the other crap it was easy. I made an easy million a month before Riwwi became full of summoning mobs. Now I do Augs, just like when Omens first opened I was already GM JC so made a heck of a lot, now I have a 300 poisonmaker as well. Good cash. I also have two accounts full of alts. So thats where the money goes. That and TSing. I liked Chardok so the farming wasn't farming really to me.

If you find that stuff isn't moving well, try checking the tribute value. The Droga/Nurga stuff isn't too bad for that. I hop into Veksar once in a while because it's empty on CT and I like it there. For farming items, I usually go to Causeway.

Most of my cash went into my Druid alt, and I gave runes, spells, items, etc to people who needed it before I sold them. I could have made a killing off the tinkering crap in OoW but gave it all to former guildies. <_<

300k depending on what you spend it on can get you through a few. Baking, brewing, JC easily. Can spend that much easy on any of tailoring, smithing, fletching. Pottery ain't cheap. That is assuming 300 on all.

Did an inventory last night of my two accounts on Nameless. 420k in cash give or take. 3 CoCW, 2 CoF, 5 RBG, 3 RBB. 2 pairs of Barb pants..one monk...., two Barb hide masks, one CoS, 2 fungis, 1 BoC, and enough other shit I could sell at half bazaar price and make another million. FV account has 40k in cash from a trade. Zeb account has 20k in cash. Both have fully equipped characters. I have a 300 JC, poison making, baking player, all different characters. Zynt is 300 jc, 200 fletching, baking, brewing, smithing, tailoring is 162, pottery is 200. I have a 200 plus alchemist. For Inny's sake I have too much crap going on surprised I am about to ding 69 and I have as many AA as I do.

Little off topic here and I might be stupid for asking...but I thought tradeskill cap was 252 and I hear a couple of you mentioning 300's... did they raise the cap sometime and I missed it or what?

Yeah, all of em to 300, (save fishing I think) and the skillup path was made easier as of today.

I still have better luck selling augs or WoS items ... I sell for about 20% less than bazaar low and usually move in one day.. Made about 500K in the last month . But toooo damn many alts .....
P.S> Did some JC combines on my ENC alt last night. His skill is 262 (inc GM glass) . I was cutting Radiant augs.. Put Wunshi's and NDT on and was able to cut 10/11 .. so not too bad ... use NDT and focus whe doing JC skill ups if you didn't already know.

I got to 291 easy as hell with just int, dex is mid 200's, and the Wunshi deal goes against all things posted by devs on EQtraders. I haven't failed a aug cut in months. Only thing keeping me from 300 is the refusal to do chains. Not saying Wunshi and NDt dont work, but I got JC from 1 to 250 in 6 hours and then to 291 in a couple days and then only due to diving for dropped gems.

Gosh, and I thought I was doing good at about 12k banked. If 200k is considered poor, I must be well, I don't know. The majority of my farming included AC, for acrylia and Dulak for raw pp. My gear doesn't allow me to farm the newer areas for augs or some of the high end old stuff.
Tried the flowing slime boots spot and got almost gankified. I may just need more practice at it thou, since I fell into the pool, then the mob fell in after I got out.
