Hi chaps, I recently bought Word of Terris and have been attempting to hunt in Crypt of Decay with it by charming a Death Knight. However, charm rarely tends to last over 30 seconds and probably 80% of the time less than 15 seconds. Does anyone have any tips on this?

OK listen up please. This has been discussed over and over. I have done some tests and have read other peoples tests on the subject and here is the conclusion: CHA has NO EFFECT on our CHARM!!!!!! period!

OK, with that said if you want a nice duration on any of our charms bring a enc/shm or any others that can reduce the mobs magic resist and WoT will suddenly start lasting 10min or more.

Another trick is to get an Orb of Tishan. You slow the mob, beat on it until the orb goes off. Then I mez, charm and wait for Shackle to wear off. After that you are equiped with one bad ass pet.

Please dont start another thread on wether CHA has an effect on our charm. It really really really doesn't. I've been charm killing in Veksar, CoD for awhile now with WoT and CHA has never had any effect on duration. Using the Orb my average Charm duration is around 13-15 minutes. In fact I have been able to clear the chef's room, the room underneath and another full chef room spawn before having charm wear off on a Highborn.

If you dont want to believe me then try it for yourself. Get 200 CHA and see how long you can get WoT to last on a mob. Try it a couple times and then try it after the mob has had its magic resist debuffed and you will see a huge difference.

THE ONLY WAY TO CHARM IS TO REDUCE THE MOBS MAGIC RESIST FIRST.
ANYTHING ELSE WILL ONLY RESULT IN A SHORT CHARM DURATION AND PROBABLY YOUR DEATH.

I've got 21 Charisma, my Charms work fine. I bought CHA items for one reason only, to sell to and buy from vendors. Really nice to get an extra 100 plat off a stack of coffins, or even just saving 20 plat off a stack of peridots.

Word of Terris's resist modification was removed, which effectively killed it's duration for mobs of that level. Simply due to the fact that many many of us were getting aa's in 15mins before it was changed. I don't think it's worth the effort to charm in CoD, and in most cases...I don't charm anything while exping anymore, when soloing. The charm just simply isn't reliable enough anymore to make it worth the effort. If you were to duo with an enchanter it could still be productive, with the single charmed pet, and you both alternating on charming the mob, that is tashed all the time. Other then a scenerio like that, or atleast close to it, your gonna have alot of breaks in your charms, and alot of time fd or running to the rock at zone in. I haven't seen or heard of many necros soloing there anymore(for quite some time) so apparently other people gave it up too. RoD buffed Death Knights are painfull adds....
