DoN Woes

OK got a problem with my DoN tasks, and no one seems to be able to answer it that I have run into. I am level 63 (now, did most of this at 62) and can't get the first round of tasks from the dark reign!

I did the wayfarer tasks (5 or 6 of them... can't remember) and am not indifferent to the Dark Reign peeps. In fact the Wayferer people, when I hail them for a Dark Reign task say that they have nothing for me and that I should talk the the Dark Reign.

I go into the camp and all the people are insulting to me! They say:

Your SKill and experience suggests that you are barely qualified to polish my boots! Be gone from my sight, foolish weakling! Should you ever grow up, then maybe I'll Look in your direction again.(in the words of Captain Aleeth Zyrv) Or things similar to that. /sigh

The only ones in the camp that will give me the time of day are Talontar who offers me group missions (Grounding the Drakes, The Drake Mennace, Lavaspinner's Locals, Diving for Lavarocks) and the Dark reign merchang Xeib Darkskies which is useless to me as i don't have any Crystals yet to turn in! [pauses and dreams of the day of being able to cast DoN spells]

None of the websites (and i have checked a bunch of them) have said anything about a level limit. I do know that at this point in my questing I should be able to get some tasks from the Captain, as I friend of mine and I were at the same faction/number of tasks etc, when I ran into this problem. He got his Task from the captain, and I didn't. Only diff I Can see is that he is level 66 and I was only 62.

Anyone else encounter this discriminatory level limit? Anyone that has been able to confirm that there isn't a level limit? (perhaps by getting the Captain's Quest at a certain level... like 62?) My concern is that I am riding a line, where I have Just exactly enough faction to be indiff and be rejectted by the Wayfarer's camp, but one point short of acceptance by the Dark Reign people. Such would be my luck!

You sure you talked to Command Zaerr Ty`Dar (Dark Reign Recruiter)? He should direct you to Officer Syrrikis Ryktor who'll give you three tasks to complete. There isn't any level requirement for DoN.

I had a similar problem where one day I was able to get solo tasks and the next they disappeared and I couldn't get them again.

I completed one more evil group mission and that seemed to fix the problem.

I had done 5 or so solo tasks when 1 of the 2 tasks at the wayfarer camp outside the sol b entrance just disapeared. I found that if you hail the npc about 50 times it'll eventually offer you the other task, though I've had days where it just wouldn't offer the quest I wanted. What is annoying is that friends of mine who had done the task an equal amount of times had no problem getting either of the quests again. I hit a bad streak where I couldn't get the solo task I wanted for maybe a week, so I petitioned. The day after being told that I couldn't be helped by a gm I hailed the npc and it gave me the solo quest I wanted, go figure.

If your friend is getting tasks from the Dark Reign camp then they should have indifferent faction.
You can't get tasks from the DR camp because you don't have indifferent faction.

The faction you start out at is NOT the same as the faction other people can start out at, it can supposidly depend on deity, race, and class among other things. This is likely the difference in the number of tasks that you're noticing is required to get to indifferent level of faction. I had to complete more than 6 solo tasks before I became indifferent on the 2 chars that I have worked DoN faction on.

1) Do group missions.
2) Kill goodie 2 shoe guards or steal faction hits when other people kill them.
3) Wait until the timer for wayfarer tasks has expired.

Yes I am Dead certain that I was talking to the Commander. In fact I was in game looking at him and his response when I typed him up in my message. Otherwise I would never have been able to remember his name properly.

Thanks for the suggestion, and that may be the solution, but doesn't tell me what the problem is. Now, I just need to find some people to do a grou mission with... er... yeah.. hmm... Guild is almost dead... hmmm... Friend list is short.... hmmm (* long pause*) ut oh

The trouble is they won't give me ANY tasks whatsoever. I would gladly do one more task, if need be. But I don't think that I should have to... Like I said my friend was at the same point as I was and got to the Commander's quests... I just get insults.

My friend is a NEcro just like me. The only differences between us is level and that he is an Iksar while I am a gnome (this also means a deity diff). The Dark Reign people (all of them.. from guards to Commander to mission people to Everyone of them) are /con indifferent. If I Can't get tasts from them because I am not indifferent then I am getting a mis con, and since the /con system has had many years to be fixed, I am inclined to accept it's judgement. Maybe it is the Race/Deity Thing, but then why do they Con indiff when they aren't giving the quests? and if so, then why are the Wayfarer people Not giving me one darn task.

It isn't that I have timers running to prevent me from taking the tasks. I haven't done a single task for 2 weeks! None of the timers on the tasks (that I have heard of at this level) are anywhere near that long. Unfort killing for faction isn't likely at my level, though I might be able to steal some faction if I get lucky engough to find someone going that route.

I think I will look and see if the patch has made a difference Friday (tomorrow is Raid day) and if not, do the /petition /bug thing. I also dinged to 64 today so maybe that will make the difference.

You all have made it clear to me that it isn't a level thing, though the text they are giving me seems to say that. They aren't talking about not liking me... they are saying that I am not powerful enough.

Any other ideas and helpful information would be appreciated, though.

I know Children of Gimblax mission/task requires the group's average level be 68, I wonder if the other ones have level limits as well. All the group tasks I've done have been in groups with lvl 65 or higher average...

There is a post on Allakhazam's stating something similar happening to a level 63. So maybe there is a level restriction on the progression side of DoN.

The first 2 AA are required level 65. As to whether or not you actually need to be 65+ to get the solo tasks- I honestly don't know for certain as my necro and sk were 70 and 65 respectively when I received the solo tasks. Seeing as you can request shared tasks from Talontar, it's clearly not a faction issue. Given that, I'd wager that you probably do have to be 65+, which really isn't level-discriminatory as 65 is easy to achieve and many of the "good" (for lack of a better word) AA are 65+ as well.

Can I start doing DoN tasks at 51? or is that too low.

You answered your own question bro he is iksar you are gnome. he is evil you are good he has an innate faction with them you do not u need to do more quests. now you also had better faction then him with good side if u went the other way it would of been the same for him a far as i can tell.
